Is Robinhood a good entry point (assuming I find something I'd like to invest in), or are there better programs as far as fees, cost of entry etc?Sounds like a great combo.
I've been pretty happy with LRNZ, but I'm generally more into ETFs than individual companies unless I put the time into knowing the company.
Most brokerages are free trades with more options than RHIs Robinhood a good entry point (assuming I find something I'd like to invest in), or are there better programs as far as fees, cost of entry etc?
HFS. When you are one of the biggest companies in the world and you blow away estimates like that, it’s damn impressive.People have been buying a lot of stuff off Amazon. Who knew?
It is. Most thought splits like that were dead.Apple stock split is bananas.

There has to be some contrarian angle here, right? It is. Most thought splits like that were dead.
This is going to give me flexibility on OTM covered calls. RH money. Love it.

8/24 is when they distribute. make sure you fully own them by then (i.e. the trade settled). Buy before mid august to be safe. How long do we have before it goes into effect?
Covid fast forwarded their dominance 10 years in the last 4 months. Who’s adding now vs waiting for a hopeful pullback?Just to reiterate on AMZN, they’ve spent a #### ton on CV prep and one day delivery. They still reported:
1. 40% YOY revenue increase. This is a company with almost $300B in revenue with a 40% increase YOY.
2. Operating Cash Flow increased 42% YOY to $51.2B.
3. Earnings of $10.31 per share with expectations of $1.51 per share even with $13B in spending on CV and capital projects/investments in future.
There’s a reason why I invest in tech companies. They run the world right now and in what could be a horrific earnings season Amazon blew the ####### doors off their results.
It hurts that we’ve sold some over the past year for college expenses, but not that bad considering the fact that I was hoping for it to just hit the $2400 target for the rest that we own. They are a dominant force now. It’s been awesome to watch what they’ve been able to do and the correct decisions they’ve made to add hundreds of billions in market cap. The one day delivery investments they made just before CV were incredibly times and this report just shows how much. I mean beating revenue estimates by almost 10% isn’t an unheard of feat, but when the estimate is $81B, that’s phenomenal.Covid fast forwarded their dominance 10 years in the last 4 months. I chased it AH from 402 to 403 and finally got more at 404. It may settle back down and I'll feel foolish, I just wanted to get more ASAP. I also realized that when only buying 14 shares, I only paid $28 more than I initially wanted to. If I was buying tens of thousands of more dollars worth, I'd have likely been more cautious. Guy on CNBC just said he sees Apple as a buy up to $500. I kind of agree. They shattered earningsIs AAPL worth buying at 406 AH or wait till tomm? Obviously there is a push to get some pre/split
Sold half mine 5 min before closeGood god amazon
I meant to respond to this. Some of us bought this when it first came out because DKNG was killing it and it seemed like sports might come back. I sold for a small loss and am watching, but I want to look at the rest of their portfolio closer. I’m still interested but not now.any insight into the ETF $BETZ ?
Hovering at about $16 filled with various sports books and online gaming entities
Good god amazon
Ask me next week when I’ve finally shaken off my euphoric Oh Face. There has to be some contrarian angle here, right?
Love today. Up over 2% over S&P. Back to normal this year! Amazon blasting. I still can’t figure out if the stock that can’t be mentioned did well. Could be a nice week. Back to ATHs or better would be nice. Working to get to a 2 and 2 commas. Ways to go for that but trying to lay a nice foundation. Been a fantastic year so far.![]()
Might make up for an otherwise down day and allow me to keep my 2nd comma which I got back today (which might be lost after the EOM bills are paid anyway. But for one day, it's back![]()
I'm looking to add a substantial (to me) position over the next month and I went ahead and grabbed about 20% of it AH's at around 405.Is AAPL worth buying at 406 AH or wait till tomm? Obviously there is a push to get some pre/split
I may join you here.I'm looking to add a substantial (to me) position over the next month and I went ahead and grabbed about 20% of it AH's at around 405.
Knowing myself it will probably run up immediately tomorrow and I'll wait for a pull-back to add more to my position and it will just keep going up and a year from now I'll be b####ing to all of you that I only have 20% as much as I wanted.
ETA: I'm strongly considering just selling out of GOOGL to buy more AAPL instead of holding both. I feel like it's really going to run up a little while after it splits.
of iphones?$SE is trading at $125.99 AH and I just now noticed. I would follow Tim Cook into battle.
Probably running up on Amazon's good earnings. The two seem somewhat linked.$SE is trading at $125.99 AH and I just now noticed. I would follow Tim Cook into battle.
For shares it's the same. The only difference is the mental aspect of it where it seems "cheaper" to some retail investors aka Robinhooders which should not be underestimated. Can someone explain why the AAPL 4/1 split is a big deal?
if we had 50 shares at 400 a share now, wouldn’t we just have 200 shares at 100 after the split.
sorry in advance for my ignorance.

What The Bagel Man said plus it’ll be easier to play options. Can someone explain why the AAPL 4/1 split is a big deal?

Easier to incrementally add to your position. When a stock gets to the price of amazon it’s hard to decide when to add when you are blowing your wad at onceCan someone explain why the AAPL 4/1 split is a big deal?

Market psychology is a funny thing sometimes. But we old-timers can remember many times when good companies split their stock, then get this magic bump. Can someone explain why the AAPL 4/1 split is a big deal?

Almost every “tech” stock I own appears to be up nicely after hours.$SE is trading at $125.99 AH and I just now noticed. I would follow Tim Cook into battle.
It’s a long term hold for me unless it shoots up significantly, which I don’t see happening until oil pricing rises or if they get good news on the Dakota Access Pipeline. They’ve cut capital and opex and stated they plan to keep their dividend whole. I’ll likely leave it be and maybe add some on big dips.Anyone familiar with OKE. Thoughts?
I got a decent position and looking to hold or fold since I got the dividend.
I thought dividend is scheduled to pay out on Monday.Anyone familiar with OKE. Thoughts?

I bought a few after hours. I’ve dipped my toes into big tech over the last 5 years (as opposed to jumping all in) because I always thought it was “too expensive” and I’ve sold some when I’ve made modest profits. I think I’m done with that strategy and just getting in and staying in.So for AAPL would it be better to buy now before the split or wait and try and get some at around $100/share?
As long as you owned it on the ex dividend date you should still collect the dividend even if you sold after ex dividend and before the payout.I thought dividend is scheduled to pay out on Monday.
I’ve only had it for a couple weeks, but it’s trading pretty sideways in that time. Up about $0.50.
Not sure what I plan to do. I might try to be more active as a trader.
Doesn’t Robinhood already sell factional shares (like other places sell fractional shares)? For shares it's the same. The only difference is the mental aspect of it where it seems "cheaper" to some retail investors aka Robinhooders which should not be underestimated.
Yeah. That’s how I understood it, but was thinking the dividend date is Monday Aug 3rd.As long as you owned it on the ex dividend date you should still collect the dividend even if you sold after ex dividend and before the payout.
Dont blame you trading it either.
