Nice vid.

Let me tell you - the driving in Russia is far worse than even what we get to see on videos.

Lights are completely ignored.

Lanes are completely ignored. There is no deference paid to other drivers. Some days, there might be a 6 lane (2 way) road where all 6 lanes are headed east...an hour later, just based on sheer willpower, there could be 6 lanes headed west...and every combination in between.

It truly a harrowing experience.

Being recruited for a senior position at a tech startup in Moscow... I'm actually somewhat interested as the income potential is large, but my wife isn't interested. I told her I can spend 4 days a week in Moscow and 3 back in NYC. It'll never happen, but it would prob be a cool experience.

Funny, I've been there a few times for marketing a tech start up. However, I can promise you, all the money in the world isn't worth it. It's a miserable place to live.

Obviously just my opinion, but I just couldn't do it.

I'd imagine for a single successful guy it would be heaven for like a 1-2 year run...

They need better stickers.
the ones that go over manhole covers for spill protection would be perfect. those are a nasty gooey mess and stick instantly even when wet.

Of course they cost 180 bucks a pop, but hey we're footballguys, I can donate like 50 of them and just stay in one Friday night.

Try India. It's all of that plus 1,000,000 Vespas. Each carrying a family of 5

The one where they guy pulled the pistol on them and threatened to shoot was kind of terrifying. The guys didn't seem phased, though.

Just invest in a couple spike strips. First car runs over them, 4 flat tires, and now everyone else is blocked from using the sidewalk.

what's impressive with these guys... I guess... is that they appear to be doing this within the boundaries of the law.

stickers go on the windshield, which can be cleaned off without leaving damage, and in spite of the bile spit their way, they seem to do their best to avoid fighting and politely tell people to stop doing whatever it is they're doing along with physically impeding their vehicles from driving down sidewalks... russia... wow.

I still imagine that a great deal of these end up in fist fights.

eta: laying spikes down would- I'm spitballing here- likely fall under the "illegal" camp... even in russia.

Given the number of vehicles driving on sidewalks, I'm guessing the police could care less if cars get flat tires.

I worked with a guy who was told if he went to manage a team in the Czech Republic that he could come back to his home country in two years retaining his promotion. He said the eye candy was absurd and it was really cheap to live very well, but that they were lacking basics. Things like highways, computers in homes, more major things. I've never been to Moscow, but I have to imagine it's alot better than that obviously. But from what I've heard from people I know who've worked there, Hella expensive to live and bitter, painful cold. I'd personally pass too, but how bad do you want the opportunity?

Uh some of those drivers look kinda dangerous... not sure that's a great idea....
Judging by one of the video cutaways, the big guy is apparently a somewhat of a street brawler. Of course there's weapons to worry about, but the video camera, large numbers of cars nearby (and lack of quick escape) mitigate that somewhat.

Yeah, I expect he knows how to handle himself in a fight or he wouldn't be so bold.

Yep, evidence at the 4:20 mark.

Yep,

Right. No one is going to do that sort of thing unless they can take down most anyone. They're lucky someone doesn't plow right over them.

And random animals.

I think the guy that comes on at 1:58 to the end wins the crown as king of D-bags. Wow, that guy was pulling out bats and knives and head butting dudes...until his mom shows up and slaps him around.

It's probably not the police that should worry you

Russia seems fun.
I had a collegue who worked in Moscow in the mid nineties under Yeltsin, he told me a few things:

1) If you had enough 'blat' http://russiapedia.rt.com/of-russian-origin/blat/ you could get flashing blue lights your car and the cars of your entourage, installed by the police

2) An average mafioso would drive his BMW or Mercedes with a couple of outrider cars, all with flashing blue lights, If you did not get out of the way fast enough, goons hanging out of the window would hit your car with billy clubs when they drew level

3) Several times when he was hiring and conducting interviews he would be propositioned by female applicants. Mostly by attractive girls.

Personally I'm not sure about #3, but it seems pretty normal in pr0n scripts...
