strategy question - TE's (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 12-team keeper league that drafts in a couple of days, and I'm trying to map out my strategy. Basically, by the time I get to the 4th round, all of my starting positions will be filled except for tight end (and kicker, but who cares). I then won't have another pick until the 9th round, since I've already spent picks 5-8 on my own keepers. So I'm trying to decide which route to go: pick up a stud TE like a Gates, Finley, or Witten in the 4th round, or wait until the 9th round and take the best value with my 4th round pick. Do you think the TE's available in the 9th round will be comparable enough to the first tier TE's that I can get away with waiting that long? Should I spend a 4th rounder on a player that will be a bench player (at least for the start of the season?)

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

If you have most/all of your other starters, they should be pretty good, so I would DEFINITELY get a STUD TE with your pick and then add depth later. I doubt you will be happy with your TE if you wait.

i agree ... definitely go stud TE in the 3rd/4th depending on how many of Gates/Finley/Clark/andmaybeDavis are available in the draft
