Strategy Question (1 Viewer)

My league still uses a team defense even though we use 3 IDPs. It used to be 5 but we voted to lessen it.

Now we use a Team D, DL, LB and DB.

Last year I employed a pretty decent strategy and picked my DL, LB and DB from my team defense so I got double points

I was able to do that a few weeks into the season when bye weeks started.

This year I am looking to do it out of the gate. Im looking for teams and players that fit this mold that can be drafted later rather then sooner

Any suggestions

We need a lot more information here about the scoring system.
IDPSAll TDs=6Forced Fumbles=2Ints=4Sacks=3Tackles=1Asst Tackles=.52 point bonus for 3 or more sacks, 2 point bonus for 10+ unassisted tacklesDefensePretty standardFumble recovery=3Ints=3Sacks=2Safeties=2Then points allowedSo if I have the DE on a team and he gets 3 sacks and 1 Int, I get 17 points from him and then 9 from the team D.

CAR with Beason, Peppers, Gamble-IND with Bracket, R>Mathis, B.Sanders-MIN with Henderson, Allen, Winfield- SF with Willis, J.Smith, M.Lewis-BAL with Lewis, Suggs, Reed. Intersting way of looking at it. I would be weary though as a bad outing from a team perspective would more than likely mean a poor outing for individuals at the same time. Where as if you go say PIt for team and CAR of individual the risk would be less I would think.

I like the Vikings, Henderson, Allen, Winfield. I also like Houston, Ryans, Williams, Reeves. Redskins, Fletcher, Haynesworth,Landry the redskins combo is a sleeper along with Rams lauranitis, atogwe, long. The rams are a sleeper this year with a much improved defense and I think you could sleep on them big time. Atogwe will be blitzing alot with spagnolo and you will see a 7 or 8 sack season for chris long and if lauranitis gets the mlb spot look for some pics and 90 tackles.

Thanks guys, this is exactly what I was looking for. Not sure I can go with Minn or Carolina because I would need to take them early but maybe SF or the Rams could work

Sorry for the lateness, I actually meant to come back here earlier and check out the scoring.

Since you don't actually get bonus points (or double points) from having IDP players from your team defense my advice is to just take the best available DEF, DL, LB and DB available when you draft. You are not getting double points for having IDPs from your team defense, even though it seems that way. In essence, you are losing points for not putting the best available players in your lineup.

good point I would snag a top defense and a top mlb get a safety that gets alot of tackles and a great dlineman but only a end not a tackle ends give you sacks.
