**Streaming Defense 2015** Week 15 - Playoffs: No time to get cute (1 Viewer)

Going with Cincinnati this week but keeping my eye on the injury reports to make sure Buffalo is as banged up as I think.

Sticking with Cinci in one league - bonus with the change at QB, and even though they are down in the rankings and on the road playing Carolina the rest of the way in another league. For some reason Carolina seems to come through a lot of the time.

Have the Pack and tempted to get Minny - but in our league, SD has given up 5th most points to defenses which includes 3 TD's. So sticking with GB.

I have Cincy, but I'm considering picking up the Browns hosting the Broncos. The Browns aren't world beaters. But at home against a smoke and mirrors offense in what just feels like a game an undefeated squad loses is compelling.

ETA: although somehow I missed that Manuel was starting against the Bengals.

Anyone think Miami comes out guns blazing first game after a coaching change and the bye?
Yes. If Buffalo is healthier than expected this weekend I may drop Cincy and go with Miami.

It will also help the Miami defense if Lamar Miller gets the ball more.... Keep the defense rested.

I was beaten to Minnesota and have the Giants (blech), so I might have to pick a side of the Chi-Det tilt. Currently 3 (!) teams are carrying 2 DEFs so the cupboard's a bit bare. Other options include Tennessee, Buffalo (who was just dropped for Min), Pit (probably not a decent option this week) or maybe WAS. Projections say KC or MIA might be viable too, but I'm not buying there.

So yeah, probably Tennessee, but considering the Lions O is averaging 3 turnovers a game, the Bears D might be the sneaky play.

Going Eagles. Not because the matchup is good but because the Giants are pretty banged up and could be playing from behind the whole game. It's not a normal play but I have little options on the wire and the Eagles are a pretty good defense.

Going w/ Vikings week 6. Anything has to be better than the worthless pile of poo Giants D in week 5, I lost by 2.5 damn points. SMH, they seemed like a good play.

Detroit Lions.
Half defense hurt. Bears going to eat them up
Bad info here. Haloti Ngata Is missing his 2nd straight game & has contributed nothing all year. Levy is probably out for the year with his hip thing. Ihedigbo missed some practice this week but he'll play. They're missing anyone new this week. Bears have 3 starters out on defense.

Is Houston bound to get theirs at some point? Off a mini bye?
What have they shown in 5 games other than being poo? There has got to be better options for you.

I picked up Detroit, but really considering Balt.
Same boat pretty much but might go Tennesse. I picked up Detroit for this matchup last week, but the Bears coaches have been doing a pretty good job of scripting a conservative game plan for Cutler. I just don't have the same confidence. Of course he could throw 3 ints and get sacked 7 times so who the hell knows.

Don't trust the Whizanater. He'll screw you every time. Horrible coach.

Sorry, Bobby. Didn't even look to see who I was responding to. :bag:

Lions are sucking hard this year but Austin's still a good DC. Excepting the Week 5 all phases disaster they've played OK D. Would love to see Terryl replace Caldwell but I'm sure they'll drag their feet on canning JC & he'll be somebody else's HC next year.

Detroit is a good stream this week IMO. But game flow wise Forte is probably the difference.

Really like MIN for the next 3-5 weeks. Great match ups. I'll probably only use them Week 7 v the Lions & then go back to riding Denver. You know you're having a sad FF season when your DST is outscoring all your offensive players (averaging over 22 in our atypical format.)

Do we like MIN or DET over GB at home against SD?

SD has been a good match-up for defenses, but I'm not sure that I trust GB completely. It also doesn't help that I am planning to start Philip Rivers in that league, at the moment, and an opponent in another league has GB DEF also.

I have Cinci in one league and Jets/Cinci in another. With Bengals on bye and Jets facing NE, I need a stream for both leagues. Going with Washington. They've been pretty solid all year; even in games like yesterday where they got killed, they got a TD to salvage it.

Also, I'm dropping Cinci. Much better NFL D than fantasy. They've been in single digits most weeks this year, even when they good match-ups like yesterday's vs Manuel.

I have the exact same scenario with both Ds and I too am considering Washington this week. I don't think Cincy's D warrants a drop. Very good teams are always playing with a lead and teams playing catchup always will translate into mistakes. They haven't been huge point makers but they can be counted on to keep you out of the red. Consistency matters a great deal. Pacman is close to breaking one almost every week it seems.

Even on bye? I have a pretty high standard for teams I'm willing to carry through their bye week. I'm talking Denver, maybe a couple others. Teams that have scored single digits four weeks in a row don't meet that standard.

I'm in a similar situation. Got the Jets in a short bench league.

Is anyone here who has the Jets considering playing them against the Pats this weekend?

With how stout the Jets have been playing and Brady's recent offensive line woes, is it really that crazy to expect the Jets to be a middle of the pack performing D this weekend? I don't expect a lot of points, but you've got to think Revis will get a pick and brady will get sacked two or three times. As long as the Pats don't put up 45 points and cause a negative it should be ok. Right?

Problem is that the ceiling would seem to be pretty low (and the floor is obviously low as well, since the Pats certainly could hang 45 on them). Jets have been a great NFL D so far, and a decent fantasy one. But they haven't been putting up monster games like Denver.

If you really have no other options, then it might be the best LT choice (defensive points are rarely decisive anyway). But for this week, it's definitely sub-optimal.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that Cincy is in my dynasty format. Deeper benches. Redraft would make it easier to let em go.

In my scoring format the Jets have actually been pretty middling. I may drop them in favor of Steelers playing KC even if it's a road game

In 12 years of playing this game I don't think I've ever had such a hard time with my defense.

Looking good so far.

Question for the streamers here, need a good recommendation for next week, I picked up Washington in one league, them @ home vs Jameis/TB could be a fair play.

As luck would have it, I backed into Denver week 1 since I dropped the others I drafted.

Is the Denver D just so damn strong you even play them vs. Green Bay when they come off bye???

In years past I always streamed against GB when I could, even when I held a strong defense....of course thats when GB was lighting it up.

I am almost of the mind that Denver is so strong now instead of dropping someone like a bench RB, (for a 1 week stream at defense) that with the bye weeks upon us the play might be to just play Denver and forget the matchup at this point.

Maybe take the slightly bitter one week with the overly sweet.

I have Pitt available in one league too, whats the consensus on them next week..... They weren't too shabby against AZ this week.

In my $ league, Denver is #1 and has 30 more points than #2 Seattle, 40 and 50+ more points than teams #2-> #10 --so yes, if I had them, I would forgo streaming.

If you have DEN, you play them. (They are outscoring top-5 Ds by 2x as many points, it's astonishing and they went undrafted in most leagues - they're my waiver wire co-MVP of the season along with James Jones).

But this week due to the bye I like PIT, which seems to have been dropped just about everywhere.

In one league, I have Vikings, who have a nice looking matchup on the road @ Lions (though Stafford just dropped a to of production on the Bears, and actually should've won @ Seahawks week 5). The Panthers were dropped b/c of their week 5 BYE, and weren't picked up for week 6 (I assume b/c of game @ Seattle). Panthers host Eagles....Bradford chucked 3 INTs last night. I tend to go w/ home defenses when possible, so I'm leaning dropping Vikings & rlling w/ Panthers.

With Den on bye this week, I'm looking hard at Was and Pit. Probably going with Pit, but i have the last WW priority, so i may not have a choice.

Probably time to jump on the Miami bandwagon as a home date with Houston could be a decent play for a bye week streamer. A gamble for sure but if a coaching change can and has impacted this team this defense might be a fast rising defense.

This week might be OK but then again HOU can move the ball, plus they play @NE the following week so it'd only be a one week filler.

Yes agree - more of a bye week filler. Funny thing is I have the Jets defense and they have the world beaters this week. Foster and Hopkins scare me but I am gambling on the risk that it is hard for average teams to win two games on the road.

In the same boat here. Vikings and Panthers were both available. I picked up the Panthers. Josh Norman is going to eat Bradford alive.
