Watched the first episode of Kimmy Schmidt. I remember people mentioning that there was one really funny scene but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what that was. Didn't laugh once.
I couldn't make it through the first episode.

Same here, tried it out after reading about it in this thread, but just don't get the love.

similarly, i watched only the first episode. it feels too similar to "30 Rock" in its rhythm, beats and voice that i don't need to see much more of it.

Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer

Another documentary on Aileen Wuornos. This woman's life was a train wreck from the word go.

Creepy, creepy story.

There are scenes where you can see evil spinning out of control where she starts out talking about when she dies she will be in heaven with the angels and Jesus, and in the same breathe she starts screaming how she wants the prosecutors children to be raped in the ###.

2 episodes in and I love it. Great scenery, very good acting, intriguing story. The slow burn works for me.
Just wrapped it up.

Found myself interested in most characters.

Many will give up on it cause of the slow place but worth grinding through imo.

Agreed! Well written and such beautiful scenery. I was hooked from the get-go on this and binged on it for 2 days straight. I certainly hope it remains great for additional seasons for obvious reasons for those who have watched it. I am hesitant to give away spoilers, although the show pretty much does so early on with the flash forwards.

bloodline spoiler

Have some dumb questions

So Danny's son saw John and Kevin going to his house. The camera angle almost made it seem like someone was watching John kill Danny at the beach. That so, or just fancy camera angle?

Was Danny sending $ back home, for his son? or another cause?

It appears S2 will focus on Danny's kid manipulating John just like his old man?

It may not live up to expectations, but can't wait for it and really glad they are back at it.

Gave up on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Ellie Kemper is awesome but I didn't care for any of the other characters.

Started watching Derek starring Ricky Gervais. I wasn't sure how to feel about it after the first episode. Gervais plays a 'simple-minded' guy and it wasn't completely clear at first if he was being serious or just poking fun. And one of the main co-stars is Gervais' buddy Karl Pilkington, who I couldn't take seriously either. But I'm now four episodes in and I'm hooked. It beats you over the head with the sentimentality at times but I really like the characters.

And fortunately, as a British series, it's two short seasons and a one-time special.

this was my problem with it. i couldn't take it. i like Gervais with a little bite to his storytelling.

I'm looking forward to this too

I started OldBoy (2003, not the Josh Brolin ver.), at 1:30 AM. I put it on with the intention of falling asleep. I didn't.

Pretty twisted story and worth the watch. I'm interested in the Brolin remake now that I've seen the original.

Eta- 7.5/10

Made it half an episode of Derek and I love Gervais.
When the first episode ended I looked at my wife and said I wasn't sure if I liked that. She was out.

After watching the 2nd, I got hooked. Not sure why. Not arguing that the 2nd was that much better or different, but I was able to get more engaged in the show.

From what I heard, the main actor is a vegetarian. And he did the octopus scene in one take.

I watched the new one and liked it. Cool premise.

That list of the 23 best movies on Netflix you never heard of is money... just watched "In Bruges" and thought it was really good.

Dunno if its been mentioned but the wife and I have been watching a Spanish series called Gran Hotel. It's in spanish with english subtitles. The best way I can describe it is that it's like Downton Abbey, but imagine if interesting things and plotlines actually occured on Downton Abbey.

It takes place in a Spanish resort hotel in the early 1900s and like Downton Abbey, the plot primarily involves the upper class hotel owners and the lower class hotel maids and waiters. It has everything from serial killers to people with secret identities to family betrayals, and an Hercules Poirot inspired investigator trying to figure it all out.

Seasons 1 and 2 are on Netflix and season 3 is available "elsewhere" to be added to netflix later this year. We're nearing the end of season 3 and the story is pretty epic.

Derek is one of the few shows my wife and I watched together. We both really enjoyed it.

Sounds interesting and worth a try.

Daredevil is incredible. It's like if Arrow were on HBO and...better in pretty much every way. Darker, more violent, better acting and story and dialogue and cinematography.

I'm 4-5 episodes in. Big fan so far.

Only thing:

I like the look of the guy who's playing Kingpin but I'm not a fan of his emotional side being the highlight so far..guessing he gets more twisted as the season goes on, but right now I actually like his right hand man better as a villain. I'm not getting a menacing vibe from Kingpin, although I know he's more of an intellectual villain despite his size
