Klaus was....fine? Beautifully drawn, really gorgeous but the story was a bit scattered. I liked it fine but won’t become some kind of Christmas tradition here.
Oh.. too bad. I think Netflix did that Christmas so santa thimg with Kurt Russell? That one wasn't bad- might even recommend it, iirc.

Daybreak is alot of fun. Post apocalyptic comedy where only young people survive the nuclear fallout and old people are zombies. We watched a couple episodes last night and will continue.

The Crown season 3 dropped this past weekend.  Really, really good stuff.  Takes a bit to re-acclimate to new actors playing the parts (and figure out where you've seen them from before - hint, the Duke of Edinburgh is Edmure Tulley from GoT).  Warning, episode 3 can be tough to watch.

Wonder if Foy was done with series.  She has a look that would probably work if they “aged” her.

Vanessa Kirby is hard to replace too.  Bonham-carter was perfect in the kings speech but doesnt work here for me.  Not yet at least.  Kirby was just so elegant.  Carter more quirky.

It’s what, 20 years past season 2?  These new actors will be here for seasons 3 and 4, too.  They want this series to go till princess diana.

“Inside Bill’s Brain”

1st and especially 2nd episodes have been great to watch very interesting. Somehow only has a 50 on Rotten Tomatoes.

Just started The First on Hulu; mission to Mars tv show.  Anyone seen it?  I can’t tell if I like it yet, need a couple more episodes.  Sean Penn looks like he’s juicing

We saw it. Didn't love, but just re-reading what I wrote about it in here, found some stuff I liked amidst the stuff I didn't ...particularly when it hits on actual sci-fi stuff or stuff pertaining to the Mars thing...and I guess the acting was good. What you see early on is what you get, iirc. So if it's not turning your crank after a few, I'd bail.

Btw...hfs! I didn't place her, bat now that you've said it... dammit!
Haha I was watching the first episode and sitting there like damn I really know her face I’ve seen her this year and then I thought fleabag!...but no way in hell. Googled it. Quite a year of tv for her.

She was also in The Favourite, which *I* liked, but it was pretty polarizing.

GLOW was a goofy, fun watch for the first couple of seasons, but I thought season 3 lost a lot of its charm and started taking itself a little too seriously. Wasn’t a fan.

Any discussion of the Spy in here? It’s really good.

Sucks it’s so hard to get conversation on shows with everybody having different viewing habits.

Feel like a few people were discussing it when it came out.

The wife has no interest and we have a few things we're already watching together. Even though I'm interested, I've been in a deep dive of Bojack...so won't get to it for a while.

And yeah...Bojack is really good. Amazing how well it does relationship studies in the middle of the insanity/hilarity.

Yea definitely focus on Bojack. This list named it the best show of the decade:

Started Atypical after reading the recommendations here and we like it well enough through the first episode. I would like to enjoy the old slap and tickle with the therapist.

Rewatching The Detectorists. One of the great unknown Netflix gems.
i think it's a fine series. it's a lovely depiction of English village life with its small injustices, comeuppances, and quirky characters. gentle almost comfortable comedy that knows nothing of malice.

I SERIOUSLY dont know why folks aint jumpin' in the aisles for Dolemite. The funniest man in the universe puts his whole heart & soul and still-estimable talents into bringing to life the exploits of his and his brother's childhood hero, nails it at every turn and everybody's all "the origin story was innerestin & Snipes was nice". THIS IS THE BEST TIME I'VE HAD IN FRONT OF A SMALL SCREEN AND THAT INCLUDES PRON!! It ain't mine to take really but i'll still have this black hero movie over 1000 phonyass Black Panthers. If QT had did this y'all'd still be scraping the thrillcrust off yourselves. What's WRONG with you people?!?!
Just watched this and it ruled. Did it follow a formula in its construction? Yes. Was it fun as #### to watch? Triple yes. McBokonon is my name, and giving good Netflix recommendations is my mutha-####### game.

I'm now 6 or 7 episodes in and have really enjoyed it. I should finish this week. Highly recommend it for a fun show.

I need to rant about Glow.

Some of my complaints make me sound right wing, but I'm a pinko lefty socialist commie. So you know if this stuff annoys me, it's pretty bad. Mostly enjoyed this show the first season. But I just finished the last season, and what a lazy piece of **** this show turned into. In this universe it's 1980, but all the characters use phrases only coined a couple years ago. In this universe, men are all pigs. In this universe, literally everyone is gay. If you ever watched HBO's series Looking, there we saw a well-made show where the characters just happen to be gay. With Glow, you can see the woke cancel culture dripping on every page of the script.

Not on Netflix but Mr. In Between on FX is a damn cool show, just binging season 2 now.

Not Netflix and probably goes into the D+ thread but.... "The Mandalorian" is pretty terrible 3 episodes in. It's like a SyFy channel program but worse somehow. My 9 yo son thinks it's fantastic, of course, but it's just too dumb and lazy for me to enjoy. It could be good fun like "Firefly" was or dramatic like "BSG" was in its first few years but it isn't aspiring to do anything interesting.

I mentioned in the Disney thread that it felt written by not very bright or original tween d&d needs who just saw some westerns for the first time and started copying them. The writing is flat out awful. And the mandolorians helmet really doesnt help- allows for no acting, and the intended production value of his audio sounding filtered makes it seem like the actor is literally phoning his voice over in, completely removing it from interacting with his surroundings including co-actors. We're almost to pulling the plug.
