Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (29 Viewers)

Looking for suggestions on movies to show my kids (5 & 7) that are currently streaming. Looking for old 80's/90's movies, stuff like Goonies, Karate Kid, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, etc.

Any of those streaming right now?
The Secret Of Kells is a stunning film, and I think that's still streaming.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is also excellent.
is Iron Giant on there?
It is on DVD.
the Iron Giant is returning to theaters for a short run as a special edition. I'm planning on taking my kids (7 and 9)...they've seen it before.

Longmire Season 4 is now available on Netflix. The trailer looked good. I'm going to bing watch it this weekend.
I'm kind of interested in this one. Has anyone in here been watching?
Watched the first three seasons on pay tv and it was good. Some nice mystery aspects to the individual episodes and overall plot arc and a fresh perspective being out in the country with the native american angle.

Probably the number one complaint was that the main character is too much of a badass. There are episodes where you buy it, and other episodes where you kind of roll your eyes a little. Its really cool netflix picked it up since it was cancelled after a major cliffhanger. So stupid A&E cancelled it so they could make more cheaper, fake reality tv as it actually had good ratings.

There's a thread devoted to it I think.
I have watched the first couple of episodes of season 4 so far and I must say I like them.

just keeps getting worse ...
That's like six month in a row of meh.
Agreed. There are a bunch of good movies and shows scheduled to expire on October 1st so it looks like my queue is going to shrink significantly considering there are only a couple of things I may add this month.

One movie that's supposedly leaving is Spinal Tap. Anyone who wants to watch it again needs to do it tonight.

Exactly what I said at work when I read this list. I was disappointed to see three blank faces staring back at me. They'd never seen/heard of Tremors.
Congratulations on being the oldest person in your office.

Not along those lines, but just watched The Gruffalo with he kiddos. Everyone liked it, even my die hard Avengers or bust fan.

eta: Got the suggestion from here: http://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/best-netflix-instant-movies/7/

The Glen Campbell documentary is really good.

You don't have to like his music to enjoy it.

Early scene when they are telling him he has developed Alzheimer's Disease and he sort of shrugs with a boyhood grin as if to say, "ok, that doesn't concern me."

We watched "Black or White" with Kevin Costner last night.

It was a pleasant surprise. Not an award winning movie, but pretty good. A little predictable, bur worth the watch.

i plan to watch it. The John Denver one is worth a watch as well.

Yeah, I had the same reaction. I didn't know there was a three or four let alone five. Apparently my son knew because he filled me in on the missing backstory of the grabbers as we watched five.

Btw, Tremors 5 is SyFy original bad with less cheese and mucho forced humor that falls flat so don't be in a rush to stream.

That's disappointing. I really had high expectations for that one.

I saw the original Tremors in the theatre.

Anyone know when the last 7 episodes of Mad Men will make it onto Netflix?
Breaking bad's final 8 came on feb. 24 and it had ended sept 29. Based on that timeframe, mad men would appear in the next couple weeks.

Sounds like it could be a good Sunday afternoon lazy movie.

We're cool, brohan.

We landed on the moon, water is wet...yadda yadda....but re-watched Glengarry Glen Ross on Instant and its such a good flick. I'm always impressed with movies that hold up so well after both lots of time and viewings and can still hold my interest.

Creep - I am a fan of almost anything Mark Duplass is involved in...the title fits the movie perfectly 7.4/10

The Conspiracy - Found footage thriller. wasn't great, wasn't terrible...worth a watch if you like the genre. 5.1/10

Jug Face - a very odd horror film. It was entertaining but nothing special 5/10

I know it's been pimped in here before, but I finished the first season of Luther this past weekend and those last couple episodes are pretty incredible.

White God

I was intriqued by the description:

Cruelly abandoned by his owners, a stray dog name Hagen survives brutal conditions to rally an army of mongrels bent on revenge.
It's a Hungarian film. I was imagining what it would be like if it was an American Hollywood movie and I'm pretty sure it would be really stupid. But, this was good, overall.

One of my top 10 of any film ever. Have you ever seen "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf"? Same tension filled stage play type film. Much like GGR it is exhausting from the tension and angst - but a captivating must see in a similar vein.
