If you are a fan of Billy Bob Thornton then Landman is a good show. Just watched Season 1 for the second time. Season 2 starts next week
This one is polarizing. I have several friends who loved it. I thought it was garbage.

I’ll reiterate what I said when season 1 was running. I’m not a prude and normally all for T&A but them sexualizing the teenage daughter was creepy to me. Once I could have overlooked but it was constant during s1. And yes, I know the actress is in her 20’s but her character is supposed to be a HS senior.
I agree with this. Both her and Ali Larter

I agree with you on this.. One of the worst part of the show..

To be clear - I have zero issue with Larter’s character. She’s smoking for her age. And I’d probably be fine if this lady playing her daughter was 25 on the show. But she’s 17 and parading around naked or scantily clothed a lot and talking to her Dad about sexual acts and letting guys finish on her. Just weird and creepy.

I enjoyed Death By Lightning on Netflix. I'd read the non-fiction book that the show was based on (Destiny of the Republic by Candice Millard) so I was familiar with the events around Garfield's brief presidency. The show took some liberties with the characterizations making Garfield more saintly, Chester Arthur more bumbling and Roscoe Conkling more villainous. It's tough to make the assassin Charles J. Guiteau stranger than he actually was but the script filled in some of the gaps in his backstory.

Michael Shannon and Matthew Macfayden were both excellent leading a strong supporting cast. I thought it might have benefited from one more episode because the finale got a little too busy trying to wrap a bunch of loose ends.

I mean you lived it, right? So you should know.

Looked boring, I'll give it a run...

Not much content out right now that I'm excited about.

Late tot he party but watching S4 of The Witcher. I'm usually not in favor of lead character changes but gotta say, haven't noticed a difference. Solid so far, think I'm on episode 6.
I have noticed the difference and find it to be a significant distraction. The new actor isn't terrible but Cavill was perfect for the role.
im finding something this season seems cheaper or more b-grade than previous, from story telling thriugh art direction, lighting, hair/makeup etc etc. Not that i thiught previous season elite in all that, but noticebly offputting.

Because most of his on camera dialogue is "hmmm" it's not particularly distracting to me, looks close enough that I don't have an issue but it's easy to see how it would be off putting. If he had more speaking roles I would probably have more of an issue with it but grunts and hard looks don't really make a difference for me.

I know what I've noticed missing so far this season and it's been terribly disappointing. Rather than getting banned I'll just harken you back to Yennefer's transformation scene to illustrate my point.

Even though it's a period piece, the filmmakers try to make it more approachable by modern audiences by having the characters (with the exception of Garfield) adopt more contemporary attitudes and language. It's weirdly anachronistic at times but wasn't a deal breaker for me.

I liked this as well. I really didn't know anything about Garfield before watching this.. Thought it was good & very well acted

Tried watching The Last Frontier on Apple TV. Ummm.... Good cast, I guess? The show itself is alarmingly bad. At first glance, it looked sort of entertaining, if you can get past the premise that a plane full of prison inmates would crash in Alaska (and several of them would survive). Sadly, within two episodes (actually less), that premise wasn't even in the "Top 10" worst parts of the show. I finally had to do a quick online search to see if I was alone... The comments I found on Reddit are probably the best "part" of the show.

"It's less realistic than the A-Team."
"It’s like a bad SNL skit."
".... whoever wrote this is a moron..."
"Has to be one of the worst written shows I’ve ever seen lol."
"Terribly written, definitely not any realism and the plot is crazy stupid."
"Another dud from Apple: I watched maybe 10 or 15 minutes of the first episode: completely ridiculous premise."
"Zombie escapees vs bumbling law enforcement. I got out in the third episode."
"Officially couldn’t take it anymore. Not even for the closure...."
"Some shows are just meant to be half- watched while folding laundry."
"Pretty sure this script was written by AI."

:lmao:

Just binged Pistol on Amazon...Danny Boyle quasi-biopic series about the sex pistols, based on Steve Jones book. I thhink this is a few years old. Completely enjoyed it even if it suffered from being too much of the story tellers voices gettting shouted narratively.

Finally got around to binging some stuff on Netflix.
Frankenstein was overrated slop, bored me to death
Death by Lightning was beautifully shot and very well acted. Not everyone is going to like it though.
Adolescence was one of the best series I’ve ever seen.

Mayor of Kingstown

Just when I thought it was just going to be the same story over and over again it kicks up a bloody notch. Not going to be happy if the brother gets flipped tho.
