"Strength of Victory" is one of the tiebreakers used by the NFL to determine playoff spots. It is the combined winning percentage of all the teams a given club has beaten. Here are the strength of victories for all NFL clubs with a winning record through 7 weeks:

AFC:

Broncos: 14-16

Bengals: 10-15

Ravens: 8-16

Patriots: 13-21

Colts: 12-19

Chargers: 6-18

Jets: 5-22

NFC:

Giants: 13-13

Panthers: 12-12

Saints: 13-18

Vikings: 11-16

Seahawks: 10-16

Eagles: 9-15

Bears: 14-25

Rams: 9-17

Falcons: 9-17

Notes:

+ Not one club with a winning record has a SoV above .500

+ The Giants and Panthers share the best SoV, right at .500. Everyone else is under .500.

+ The Jets have far and away the worst SoV.

I'm not really surprised by this. Given that the winning team imposed one of the opposing team's "L"s, that club would have to be 3-2 or 3-3 to be above .500.Put another way, the Bears are 6-0 for example. Taking away the 6 losses they have given other teams, their opponent look more respectable at 14-18.

Also, a singular loss to a 6-0 team (see Giants / Colts) or 5-1 (Panthers / Saints) vastly improves that record.

So, bottom line - the sample size is small and it's early.
