I know this show might not be for everyone, but I'm really enjoying it. there is like zero action, car chases, gun play, kung fu, or any of that. but if you like interesting characters, intriguing personal conflict, and out of the park acting performances, it's really good. it's a drama, but it can be pretty funny too. the interactions between Tom & Greg are always hilarious.

I noticed there was no thread about it, anybody else watching?

Watched the pilot last week and will watch it again with my wife to see if that's something she wants to watch going forward.  I liked it and am interested in watching the full season.

if you liked the pilot, you'll definitely like the rest. it ramps up pretty quickly. I think the pilot is probably my least favorite episode

Might be a bit slow for some people, but it's a satisfying build. The level of ######## snobbery on this show is off the charts and it's hilarious. Plus I have a thing for the patriarch's daughter (fair-skinned, great smile, and really hot).

Edit: we can't say d00shbagg now?

yes! Tom teaching Greg how to be rich, Kendall and the meth heads, Roman...being Roman. it's great!

I'm four episodes in after coming to the party late and I'm into it enough that I tried to watch Episode 5 on the train this morning via terrible wifi.  This show deserves a lot more love. Saving me from a summer of watching my city's mediocre baseball team flail about every night.  9/10, strongly recommend.

the last episode was awesome. I like Shiv, but the political stuff is my least favorite. but the whole bachelor party was great. and Tom's...um...experience. holy ####. I was hoping to see a little more of Greg on coke, but it was still great. everyone on this show kills. might be my current favorite, at least until Saul comes back.

ETA: "closed loop system"  :lmao:

The Shiv political stuff was my least favorite too, but I like it a little more after the payoff in this week's episode.  I think part of the reason I didn't like it is that it's too obvious that Gil is supposed to be Bernie Sanders. The other fictional characters seem to borrow from a variety of real life people and businesses- lots of Murdoch obviously, but also some Mercer family, some Disney, some Trump, etc.- so it's not at all distracting.  But with Gil it's too distracting.

Anyway this show continues to be incredibly entertaining IMO. It's probably never gonna be considered high art like The Sopranos or Mad Men or something, but it's just as binge-able. The hour flies by as quickly as any prestige drama I can remember and I always want more at the end. Also it's the first show I can remember to depict incredible wealth without veering into lifestyle porn. I have no desire to trade places with any of these people.

Surprised there's been zero discussion on this show.  Brian Cox is fantastic (as always).  Like the fact that Adam McKay (exec producer along with Will Ferrell) is involved

OK it isn't Game of Thrones but if it were Kendall would absolutely be Theon.

There's a thread for it buried around here somewhere.  Hoping to watch episode 4 tonight with the Mrs.  Episode 3 had some real uncomfortable scenes. :oldunsure:

Totally into it, finale already coming up.....seems like a short season? Still a big fan.

This was unbel :X ievable

He could be bluffing.  He was probably informed of the broken window and put 2 and 2 together?  Either way, Logan is ruthless.  Shiv is also bat#### crazy....

That's what led to me asking.
Yeah, i think it was a spare, but never officially confirmed?

When he went into his suit pocket, i remember thinking "there's the foreshadowing that he Chappaquidicked himself and left wallet/phone behind in the car." But, then he tried the keycard door and ended up breaking the window. But, Logan said the flunky guy saw him come back all damp. So, could be a bluff, could be they got him cold. Either way, Logan went with his gut that Kendall is soft af and craving daddy's approval and obliterated him.

"Greg the egg. You Macchiavellian mofo. I see you, Greg. I like it."
Best line of the episode.

Greg was also obviously the one who directed Kendall to the waiter, which means he has to at least have a strong suspicion of the truth behind  the crash. The guy is piling up ammo left and right.

Big fan of this series....started off strong with Beastie Boys on the headphones and kept rolling. Hopefully a longer season 2 is on the way.
It's the little things......he then lights up a cigarette to take just one drag, then throws it down and stomps it out.    Who does that?

Only one episode in and thought it was pretty good.  If you guys are saying it only gets better I am all in.

It’s pretty awesome....the brother played by Caulkin, Tom, and Greg the Egg are great in their own way.

This show is awful.

Let's get Brian Cox then never use him.  In fact, lets put him into a coma to start are new show.  Bizarre.

Kendall, Ferris Bueller-friend, Greg and Culkin are just ridiculous characters.  At least be funny?  Not at all.  It's brutal.

Shiv has no range.  Just a blank stare.  Basically a marshmallow.

Will say Tom is a great character and steals every scene.

I think Kendall clearly left his key card at the crash scene.  It's not a bluff.  Not sure why this up for discussion.  Kendall thinks he lost his card and Cox just so happens to come up with that exact bluff?

I understand the lack of buzz for this show now.

The Sons of Anarchy spin-off starts next month, maybe that's more your speed.

This show!

Brian Cox has always been a favorite and he finally has his ‘role’.

The premise of an industry titan reviling his children because they are living the lives he was able to provide for them is rich territory to explore.  Great combination of drama/comedy - absurdity/viciousness
