Summerpalooza II: Combined FF/Music Draft - Everybody Wants to Rule the League (1 Viewer)

We've had a bit of confusion with the rounds that we are picking. We are in the 11th round, @Doug B should be making the 4th pick for that round.

PLEASE CHECK THE SHEET to see if I have grabbed your picks correctly. At that time, please add the songs and links for those picks.

TIA.
We started going wrong at what should have been 10.9 in Rashaad Penny. It was listed by Doug B as 9.9, and the confusion flew from there. Should be an easy fix. It doesn't go too far back. I'd fix it, but don't know how to touch the sheet.

The sheet should be correct, I went thru and matched picks to names rather than numbers. I just would like people to make sure that I have done so correctly. Double checking!

Sheet is exactly right. We're on 11.04. Doug says, "drivin'" so it's probably best he's not picking while drivin'.

Go for 7 bench?
I think NV wants active waivers and short benches. I sided with that last time, and I think movement is good. I like five, frankly, though I'm not set in it. I know you AC'ed last time so maybe something to bring up with him. I think shorter benches allow for more emphasis on the dynamism of the season rather than before Wk 3 of preseason, you know?

Was it 5 last year w/ 16 teams?

How about 6 BN with a free for all round :stirspot:
Yeah, it was five. The settings stayed constant, if I'm not mistaken. I'm really not hard and fast on anything, though I think trading will have to happen more and you'd have to approach the draft differently. At least, my last few rounds would look totally different with bench spots. There was a strategy I was going to do (totally ethical) but dropped it due to short benches. So, yeah, ask NV.

I honestly don't know what a free-for-all round would entail.

With only 12 (11?) teams, should we think about tweaks in terms of roster? Last year we went 16 rounds deep to ensure activity on waivers. The waiver pool would be 64 players deeper if we do the same.
I would say we could frat another 2 rounds, also could add another flex spot if we wanted since our teams will be much deeper. The bigger question is what do we do about the 11 teams? Does yahoo allow that? Does it just give everyone a bye week?
I brought this up earlier and this was the only response. So

Fine, we're almost done so it is a bit late to change, even though the league is free/for fun, still unless there's a consensus it makes sense to leave it be.  We're almost done and I have plenty of bad metal to work with

A timed pick with no draft order like where every single music draft ends up eventually
Ah, okay. I think everyone would jam the boards at the first chance with their picks. It would be like the fireworks we had here a few years back. They'd staged this elaborate show, done everything for a rousing finale, set the timers, set the watch, did everything. And then, BAM! Everything hit at once and all the fireworks were dumped upwards into the sky all at once, one big popping sound for a ten-second release.

Interesting. Like I said, I would have drafted differently, but I think I can adjust on the fly. That also said, this is a pretty competitive league. I'd stick with the format and have a really active wire. That would keep people involved during the year. If we do increase the rounds, I'd prefer seven due to my own draft position. (I'd get a bit hosed if we went six.)

How about this, if we're finishing fast.. we put all the playlists up for a poll and the winner gets to pick first for one more round, on down the ranks.  Free for all between ties

I'll take last pick

I'm fine with an extra round, just probably need close to consensus to change it mid stream, IMO.

11.04: TE Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons

Song: "Hooper", Bill Justis (banjo) and Bent Myggen (vox)

(Yes, the film's closing credit theme song :D  )

I'm fine with an extra round, randomized order. Heh.

eta* Zilla's idea was cool but I don't want to be ranking or judging stuff I haven't gotten a chance to listen to all the way through.

I think either way there’s going to be quality players on waivers for at least through the first 12 weeks or so
