Summerpalooza VII Music/Football Draft - In Palooza Vision with Last Gen Songs (1 Viewer)

16.13 Defense Las Vegas Raiders

For their song let’s go with:

Way Out West by The Dingoes from the self-titled album, 1974.

They probably deserved more commercial success, but had a lot of bad luck running against them during their career. A nice mix of R&B and Aussie bush music. Based out of Melbourne.

@Raging weasel to close things out.

Yahoo gave us a D+ :towelwave: and they nailed this part

The trio from the same team, Joe Mixon, Cam Akers, and Dameon Pierce, might bring synergy or spell disaster for Sun Ra Rah! Rah! Rah!'s season.

I did Tucker and McCaffrey. I can link after dinner.

Can't believe Yahoo gave my draft an A+ and predict me for the most points and an 11-3 record. My starters are ok but my bench is very thin unless a lot of things break my way.

Just filling in a few of my songs for players here, this week has been busy, so I didn't want to hold up the draft while I searched for appropriate songs.

Andrei Iosivas WR CIN
Born October 15, 1999. Did you know he's Romanian-Filipino-American?

Savage Garden came out with the album "Affirmation" in 1999. While not their best album (that goes to their eponymous 1997 album), it does continue to showcase their mastery of the pop genre. To be honest, Australia had never had a truly "pop sensation" band until that time (INXS were still more rock) and I didn't even realize they were an Aussie duo until a year or two after they debuted. Let's go with the big hit from the album:

I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden, 1999

Joshua Karty K LA Rams
Born March 7, 2002. His father has a Ph.D in chemistry and is a Stanford graduate.

Since I allowed a pop song in for Andrei, let's go whole hog and nominate one of Kylie Minogue's hits from 2002, "Love at first sight". It was #67 on the Aria Top 100 for 2002 and is a typical multi-tracked danceable pop song with a propulsive rhythm that clocks in under 4 minutes. I always think she is a canny self-promoter (she got her start on the TV show "Neighbours") rather than a great singer, but her success is undeniable.

Love at First Sight by Kylie Minogue, from the album "Fever".

Kimani Vidal RB LA Chargers
Crazy trivia fact - he's the great-nephew of Hank Aaron.

OK Vidal is from Troy, and he doesn't have a lot going for him on the surface, so the big question is whether he's The Real Thing?

The Real Thing by Russel Morris, from the album Wings of an Eagle, 1973.
I was obssessed with this 6-minute epic when I was 16. Nothing else on radio sounded anything like it. Not sure how I feel about it today, but it was definitely a moment in Australian rock history.

Isaiah Likely TE Baltimore Ravens

Likely is a Coastal Carolina graduate. I visited the campus a few times on work when I lived in Charleston. Can't have been many NFL players from there? Anyway, it's a sea grant institution, so let's go with a song from "Ocean Songs" by Dirty Three. The album came out in 1998, so it's fairly appropriate for Isaiah, who was born in 2000.

Sirena by Dirty Three from the album Ocean Songs, 1998.

I'm realizing every single one of my WR and TE have a new QB vs who they spent the majority with last year.

Pittman Jr (Richardson injury)
Diggs new team
Allen new team
Hollywood new twam
Samuel new team
Jonnu new team
Ertz - Samuels
Sinnott - Samuels

That's good right?

I’m realizing that I hate my entire roster
