SUNDAY AM - WR Randy Moss (Min) (1 Viewer)

104 people have looked at this and not one Minny home can give a little info about it. :fro:

They won't let anyone know until Mort finds out during the pregame...stay all over ESPN if you have the chance. Being a homer, I have all the info available and there is not a hint of what they are doing (Tice may be a little stupid, but he learned his lesson over the "Randy Ratio" thing). In my opinion he won't play because I think they have enough confidence in their offense even without Randy. I will update as soon as I hear anything. Of course, he could be perfectly healthy and just be listed as questionable since they are playing the Titans. ;)

Iv'e had pretty good local info come from the KSTP pre-game show. "Superstar" Mike Morris (ex Viking) hosts the show from the plaza outside the Metrodome. They are usually up on what is going on or have guests that know what the deal is. I'll also listen to the KFAN pre-game radio show and they are also very privy to inside info since they are the official radio station for the Vikings.I'll be watching and listening with great interest myself, so I'll pass along anything that I might learn.Eggs

Yesterday's article from the Pioneer Press:"Randy tried his leg out today and was pretty good, actually," coach Mike Tice said on Friday. "The old adage game-time decision is probably not true because we'll probably decide Sunday morning, but close enough, right?"Moss, who has never missed a game in his seven-year NFL career, is being listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, and the Vikings are in no rush to end the mystery."We're weighing all the options," Tice said. "Certainly at this point we don't want to show our hand, one way or another. It's in our favor to have (the Titans) prepare as if he's playing."Moss is expected to have a limited role, at best, in Sunday's game, and Tice said he hasn't been lobbying to play."He's being very sensible about this," Tice said on Friday. "I think he wants to see how he feels tomorrow. I'll tell you one thing, yesterday he was sore and today he wasn't sore. So if that's an indication, he's getting better*****************I think "Moss is expected to play a limitted role, at best" says plenty for me. I'd guess they use him at the goalline as they only have 1 rushing TD all year. I'm going elsewhere this week.

I flipped on SC and the bottom scroll said "why Seattle's gameplan is already changing for Randy Moss - stay tuned"

Egads. Evidence to the opposite of my Moss-gate theories. Now how stubborn will I be? Anyway hearing anything from Tice's mouth and/or seeing what Moss did in warmup?

I am sitting him - I really believe he's a decoy in the red zone, too - get to the 15 and C-Pepp., Moore, Moe, and the receivers will be FINE.They will miss being able to strike 40 yards downfield into double coverage more than they need Moss to play in the red zone.I still also believe (pure feeling here) that they will start him, so he keeps his streak alive, and will pull him quickly and use him on a play or two in the red zone.

I agree 100%. Though in most leagues you have RMoss, you drafted him in the 1st leaving you not as great WR for the rest of the draft unless you landed some moster sleepers/WW acquisitions. When I look at my other options (not including RB FLEX) I cant see it being worth to sit him..02,JAA

Agreed...it was mentioned the streak was important to him. Just seeing him in pads before the game is no insurance he's an every-down play.

Agreed

I will admit that the odds are now leaning towards more of a 3-5 target game ... 1-2 in the redzone ... maybe 1-3 in the open field (low odds). Someone else threw out 3-25 & 1 TD Thats sounds about right. For some reason I just sense that beyond the goal line appearance(s) that they run him out on some down ... he does the moss walk around ... DST thinks to themselves 'decoy' .... a quarter later .... same thing ... DST doesn't roll coverage (assuming decoy) ... Moss takes off and Culpepper hits him in stride for an 80 yard strike.Or ... could be I drank too much last night. :suds:

Generally true. I also only took Moss in pt/rec. leagues - I landed him in two leagues - those leagues are GENERALLY easier to find gems in b/c you just want lots of catches.Driver, Bennett, RSmith - guys like that are all likely to have been available if you took Moss and then concentrated on RB for a few rounds.

Yikes. I'm in a tough spot. Going against the CPep owner. If I don't start Moss & he gets 2 TDs I'm surely sunk. Esp. considering due to byes my only other option is DTerrell. :(I'll start Moss and hope for the best.

Starts the first play to keep record intact, but it will be a running play up the middle.Strictly a decoy from then on for about 10 plays, IMO.

Mort said he doesn't have the news on Moss yet. Made a remark about people having "fantasies" about Moss. A little joke at fantasy footballers. :D

Same situation here, but Terry Glenn is my other option. I'm rolling the dice and sitting Moss. Hoping for the decoy theory and praying Tennessee limits Cpep in general.

I have to decide if 100% of Larry Fitzgerald is better than 50% of Moss. I'd hate to start Fitz only to watch Moss get 2 TD's. I have Moss in the lineup at the moment but that could change before 1:00.

I have Moss in a TD heavy league...talk about MAJOR stress!! I currently don't have him in, and I am a Viking homer, and don't think he'll play. I think he will be a decoy. I have Culpepper as well, and am better than the team I am playing, so may end up throwing him in anyway...other options are Donte Stallworth and David Patten.

I have to decide if whatever % of Moss > 100% of McCardell. :bag:

I have a feeling he'll be a red zone decoy. the defense will think "oh moss is in they're gonna throw it to him" and triple cover him leaving Wiggins and Robinson in one-on-one situations. I'm starting Fitzgerald this week over moss.

For subscribers, there is an update on the TFL report flash update page. Sounds like they're planning on using him on redzone plays and possibly more.

I'm a Saints homer and we all said the same thing about Deuce two weeks ago before the Tampa game.. not only did he start, he grabbed 100 yards. :loco:

I have to decide between a limited Moss and Chad Johnson against Bailey. I think I am better of with Moss limited to red zone only.

no no, i think red zone decoy only, others have said he'll play in long-yardage situations as a decoy, which i don't think. Red Zone Decoy Only :D

I am sitting him and starting Givens instead.. Not willing to risk him being in the first play only, never to see a pass his way all game..

Get your own dang original ideas, punk! :P In one of the first 5 posts, I said:

I think they'll only use him for a flea-flicker. ;) I'm sitting him for Keary Colbert. It's not like Carolina has anybody to carry the rock... :wall:

Everyone giving opinions on their own sucky fantasy teams, we don't care!!!!!!We want to hear something definite from someone who knows. Someone with a little insider trading. F your opinions. I need facts!!!!!!!!

Tone down, or go home - good things come to those who wait as we have the news.

Mort just said he will be active in the red zone and may score a few TDs. He finished with saying that "at least thats what Tice said"

I have a feeling he'll be a red zone decoy.
Get your own ideas :P Look up about five-seven posts.
Red zone decoy? What's wrong with his hands? If he sees the field he has more of chance scoring than 75% of the WRs in the NFL IMO. He's a play for me until I hear he isn't suiting up, but I have him in a TD heavy league so to each their own.

Does anyone else see a decoy? I can see him participating in plays inside the 5-yard line, but I think he'll be used mainly as a decoy. Should be a good game from Marcus Robinson and Nate Burleson.
