Where do you stand on jibber and/or jabber?I am not interested in SB chatter but if there is any SB chitter, I will gladly jump in
Los Angeles is a very diverse food city. Mexican is a solid option with carne asada probably being the most popular meat for burritos (probably tacos too but I think there are better options. I could also recommend some famous local institutions that serve different types of food if you want to go that route. For those hosting or bringing dishes to Super Bowl parties, what is your solid go-to?
We host and in addition to me making Buffalo wings (fry them myself) and a bunch of other unhealthy snacks (chips, dips, pizza bites, fried mozzarella, etc.) I also try to serve food based on the teams in the game. Last year was crab rolls and cheese-steak sliders.
Need to shake it up, and while I may default back to crab rolls, have no idea what food LA is really known for. Tacos? French Dip sliders (believe that was invented there)? Bacon-wrapped hot dogs (had a good one last time I was there).
Looking for the tried-and-true food crowd pleasers from your parties -- and any tested recipes you had.
Can't go wrong with tacos but oddly enough LA is also famous for the French Dip.For those hosting or bringing dishes to Super Bowl parties, what is your solid go-to?

Saints fans have to be sick. Can't blame you for skipping this one. I'm tired of the Pats and am skipping as well.Me either, GB. Can't watch.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but as someone who is not a Pats fan at all, I actually enjoy watching Tom Brady. Mainly because I feel like I'm getting to witness true greatness. The same way I loved watching Gretzky.Saints fans have to be sick. Can't blame you for skipping this one. I'm tired of the Pats and am skipping as well.
The Original Philippe. Can't go wrong with tacos but oddly enough LA is also famous for the French Dip.
@Stompin' Tom Connors guests must be getting tired of crab rolls, that's for sure.Saints fans have to be sick. Can't blame you for skipping this one. I'm tired of the Pats and am skipping as well.
There's another place a few miles away that claims they invented it. I'm surprised there's never more chatter (or is it chitter?) about it. I forget the name of the place and too lazy to Googlez. The Original Philippe.

But mmmm, Phillipe's. I'm bummed I'm not up in LA more. Used to stop there all the time.
Agreed. Can't see how anyone would boycott this game, even with the BS call in the Saints game. The Super Bowl is an event regardless of who's playing... and honestly... how they got there. Hoping to go to a party with a lot of food, squares game, and hoping the game is good. Can't see how it wouldn't be. And I will miss football dearly for the next 6 months.I know I'm probably in the minority here, but as someone who is not a Pats fan at all, I actually enjoy watching Tom Brady. I can't imagine my grandkids one day asking, "So you got to watch the greatest quarterback of all time play!" And my answer being, "Well, I could have. But I chose not to because he was just too good and won all of the time. Talk about boring."
6 months? The AAF starts on February 9th.Agreed. Can't see how anyone would boycott this game, even with the BS call in the Saints game. If only those Saints fans skipping this one had had another chance to see him play. It's a shame, really.I know I'm probably in the minority here, but as someone who is not a Pats fan at all, I actually enjoy watching Tom Brady. My bad. I'm not talking about Saints fans. I totally get that. I was just referring to people in general. If only those Saints fans skipping this one had had another chance to see him play. It's a shame, really.
Sure, I’ll enjoy watching Brady...on his back with dirty ol’ Suh giving him a double titty twister until he cries.I know I'm probably in the minority here, but as someone who is not a Pats fan at all, I actually enjoy watching Tom Brady. I shall give 'er a try but not expecting anything. I wonder if there'll be DFS for this league? Surely no one is doing actual fantasy leagues for it.6 months? The AAF starts on February 9th.
I'm not necessarily boycotting the game; I'm not interested. I spent this past Sunday afternoon watching Doctor Who on Twitch.Agreed. So if he just missed the playoffs every year you would be disappointed. One of my favorite things in the world is to watch Tom Brady lose Super Bowls.
One of the many things Arthur Blank gets right.
Check out cool hand luke over here.only thing i know about the Super Bowl right now is that i will not be eating a dozen deviled eggs in one sitting again
Absolutely. Tom Brady losing Super Bowls is a thing of beauty. With a loss next weekend he would tie Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton for the all time record for Super Bowls losses. Nothing will not deny Tom Brady another chance at immortality. So if he just missed the playoffs every year you would be disappointed.
net result not quite as bad but baw gawd i'm never doing that againCheck out cool hand luke over here.

Planet money did a podcast about their new way of consessions. It was outstanding.
I consider myself a junk food maven -- not a true aesthete or connoisseur, mind you, but I've been around the block with calorie-infused pastries and olestra-coated salty snacks -- and I've literally never seen this product from my little gal pal Debbie before.Just bring some boxes of these.
throwback to HS for me. i ate a package of these every day for like three years.I consider myself a junk food maven -- not a true aesthete or connoisseur, mind you, but I've been around the block with calorie-infused pastries and olestra-coated salty snacks -- and I've literally never seen this product from my little gal pal Debbie before.
They look horrifically delicious.
So all the dozens of games I have seen Brady play don't count? All the previous SBs don't count for some reason? I already don't remember all the SBs Brady has played let alone all the playoff games. I don't see how one game matters at this point.I know I'm probably in the minority here, but as someone who is not a Pats fan at all, I actually enjoy watching Tom Brady. Sorry in advance for picking on you. How many NFL games did you watch this season? How much (like, a percentage estimate) of the last two NFL games did you watch unfold live?Chaka said:Interesting fact: The referees sent two teams to the Super Bowl.
