Well, that went pretty much exactly as I expected (other than no big Barkley run) congrats Philly, I never doubted you. Really glad the game went the way it did, so there could be absolutely zero talk about ref calls or anything like that.

Seattle over Denver in 2013, which was another Super Bowl where I thought the clear better team all season won.

Kudos to Hurts and Siriani. They found their next levels this year, a lot of which was trusting a defense to dominate. I thought the defense was more talent than scheme, but they had the KC OL looking like they'd been drinking hand grenades before the game.
And Saquon. Saquon is always an elite talent, finally gets what he deserves. Just all around a fantastic season for him.

They finally utilized Saquon in the passing game tonight too. 6-40 giving him 97 total yards. It was by far his worst game in months but he still had a high impact on the game. Blocking and being the main focus for KC to key on. Saquon allowed Hurts and the offense to methodically move down the field and dominate the ball.

Yeah. The AJB OPI was egregious, but otherwise it was a pretty clean game. There was a make-up call shortly after, but i’d say that one gets called ~65% of the time. It was a penalty, but on replay it looked less deliberate and more incidental.
Overall, A- officiating. They largely let them play.
yeah, for Saquon, its more about the timing of his big plays than it is about the total yardage. his stats seemed a bit pedestrian in this game, but he performed at key times and that made his so so game turn into a very good game.

me! This year was A New Hope and we just blew up the death star. Next year will be Empire Strikes Back.
One thing I want to add, is the single coverage TD and 2pt to Hopkins, HAS BEEN THERE FOR THE TAKING THE ENTIRE TIME HE'S BEEN ON THE ROSTER, and for whatever reason, they refused to utilize it.
I think Hopkins is still a good #2 WR in the NFL, and KC basically wasted him, often playing him behind scrubs like Watson and JuJu.
Somebody (assuming KC lets him walk, which is likely based on usage) is probably getting a steal in FA.

If Rashee Rice was healthy, it's a completely different KC offense. Still think Eagles win but not nearly as big a cake walk.
I mean, probably, but that doesn't excuse Hopkins usage. They traded for him long after Rice was on IR.

They likely should have won 2 years ago, they went on a journey starting with that 38-35 loss to the Chiefs and 2 years later they come full circle

One of the great unknowns is what happens if Wentz stays healthy in 2017. He probably wins the MVP, but do the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl and win?

I respect his talent, but don't get the style. Eminem basically brought this faster rap style to popularity with 'rap God'. It was in the underground, but he perfected it. And it took us from hip hop which was fun, laid back, drop the beat rhymes to this. I simply cannot understand the words. It's just like when heavy metal becomes death metal. It's like ... wut you sayin?
My kids love him. So I'm old.
Also Philly is burning. No shock there.

I didn't get the half-time show.
But, my SO was tutoring some kids in the FL Virtual School at the time and the dad was dancing and having fun during half-time. Different strokes.

A masterpiece? I'm going to temper my comments here so that I don't get banned or canceled, but that was about as opposite as you can get from a masterpiece.

Just understand black culture is Americana.
Hip hop & rap are the preferred genre of huge swaths of the NFL/NBA.
Black History Month is American History.
It probably is worthy of a separate thread.

In what could only be described as a Festivus miracle, my son went to a SB party with 25+ people. They all participated in one of the sports book promos (deposit $5, get $200 in bonus bet money). Once the game got out of hand, they decided they would all put their bonus bet money on the same bet . . . an anytime TD for Deandre Hopkins, which by then had dropped to +800. Since it was free money, no one really pushed back on that decision. Then BOOM DYNAMITE! Hopkins scored in garbage time. Collectively, they won $40K. Talk about a great consolation prize for the Chiefs fans in the room.

I was teenager once too, and my parents didn't necessarily like my music......metal head. They just thought it was noise, and anger....lol. So I'm trying to be understanding, but when your teenage daughter listens to music that talks about what these artists talk about.....it's not that exciting as a parent.
