Super Bowl Week: Your toughest lineup decisions (1 Viewer)

Not intending this to be a WDIS thread by any means, but rather a conversation starter where people can discuss their challenging decisions and provide insight into which way they are leaning and why...mine:

QB: Brady @ BAL -or- Kaepernick vs. ATL

Been rolling Brady every week, but @ Baltimore seems to be a lot tougher matchup than Kaepernick at home vs. the Falcons. Plus, Kaep is on MNF which gives me one last hope (and my opponent has VDavis, not that it matters). My lean is towards Brady because he's been putting up the yards and TD's week in, week out.

Flex: Todman vs. Ten -or- RJennings @ SD

Rolled with Todman last week and it worked out. Obviously hinges on MJD health, but assuming MJD is out, on the fence for this one. Jennings did look good in his return to the lineup - I was worried about his delayed returned to the lineup because of his concussion. This one will be determined later in the week.

D/ST: Lions vs. NYG -or- Browns @ NYJ

Lions get a hapless Giants team at home and the Giants have been poor offensively the past few weeks, and now Cruz might be out. Seems like the Giants have mailed it in, which is a good recipe for starting the Lions. We all know about the Jets struggles, and the Browns did have a nice game against the Bears last week. Typically tend to favor the home team when it comes to defense/special teams, so my lean is Lions right now.

It's Vereen @ BAL for me at flex. Maybe KC DST vs Indy.

I'm wondering how owners are viewing all Minny matchups @ Cincy. Now who on Min is healthy to play, I don't know, but still curious. I just have a perception that that is often not a good place to play, and there can be weather.

Brady is a tough one this week. Kick it around ten ways and you can build 11 different scenarios. It truly wouldn't surprise me if he had 28 fantasy points or 12.

Roddy White vs Kendall Wright vs Stacy vs Ben Tate in a PPR

Vincent Jackson vs Torrey Smith

Chris Johnson vs Rainey vs Andre Brown

TD Only league...

Foles vs. Luck...Foles with the nod right now.

Sadly my kicking situation. Limited moves...meaning, I have none at this point.

Folk vs. Seabass (already had made a move getting rid of Bullock for Folk...oof).

DST.....Titans or Bills....could pick up Miami too. Titans look best on paper but.....
Hey I have them both too. I think I'm going to roll with the Titans. No Shorts, possibly no MJD again and they're missing some OL now. They should be able to have a good game. I'm also trying to drop one of these two and scoop up the Rams.

My only decision probably comes up if Rodgers starts - I'm pretty much locked into Charles and Lacy at RB, and Gordon and Jeffery at WR. Flex is either R. Bush or Nelson.

I own Rodgers, Cutler and Roethlisberger, so if Rodgers plays, I'll have to consider he and Nelson. I almost hope he is ruled out.

Yeah I could have a potential Rodges/Rivers decision. I've been waiting for Rodgers for awhile now, but I'd kinda prefer he not play this week just to make it a simple decision.

With Forte already starting, gotta pick 2 of the following 4 at RB/Flex: Bernard v MIN, Mathews v OAK, R. Jennings v. SD and Todman (if MJD out) v. TEN.

Gotta choose between R Wilson or Kaepernick. Problem is I am basing my decision on factors like Seahawks D against a gimpy Arizona team in Seattle. Or 49ers on Monday night after Seattle beats Arizona and clinches wild card for 49ers making it a somewhat meaningless game. Will SF play its starters for the whole game?

Good question. I think they'll play a good amount. One I could see not playing a ton would be Gore. He's already a little banged up so if they don't have much to play for, I could see him getting some rest.

Then again, I am probably over thinking it and should go with the tasty matchup vs ATL

Seems like 49ers would still be shooting for the 5 seed and play to win, considering the loser of the Saints/Panthers will be 10-5 and at 10-4 the 49ers could win their last two to earn the 5 seed. 49ers lose tiebreaker to New Orleans or Carolina and SF in the 6 seed guarantees all playoff road games and round 2 in Seattle assuming they advance in round 1.

QB: Cutler or Kaep

WR: Roddy or Jordy

Flex: Roddy or Jordy or Vereen or pick up Todman

Def: Carolina or Stl

My whole roster has me second guessing . . .

Romo vs. Newton.

6pt TD. +5 point bonus for 300+passing, 40+ yard TD, 65%+ passing, +5 for rushing TD 10yards or longer.

Romo is rough on the road and against Skins. Newton faces a decent NOLA D in Carolina but hasn't really been hitting the milestone bonuses. Newton is the safe play, imo, while Romo has the upside. I also have Dez and think Cam mitigates the risk of two starters crapping out if Romo chokes.

Spiller vs. Bell vs. CJ?K vs. Vereen. (Start 2) Bonus points of +5 for 100 yards rushing, 5ypc avg, 10+ yard TD.

Vereen was money until he vanished Sunday. Spiller & CJ are the anchors, in that they drag me down. Bell is pretty solid without being spectacular. Another "safe" play.

Cooper vs. Nelson vs. Patterson as WR3. (Bryant & Gordon as 1 & 2) Bonus points for WRs, too. +5 @ 100 yards rec., @ 6 catches, 40+ yard TD.

Nelson is the easy choice if Rodgers goes but that doesn't look likely. Patterson looks like the safe play with upside, as Cooper is wildly variable. 400+ yards for Foles and Cooper did nothing.

Kaepernick or Roethlisberger

Alf Morris or Torrey Smith

PPR. Made both wrong decisions this past week going with Roethlisberger and Alf. I think Colin and Torrey might be the right plays again this week. Washington is hard to trust and the weather in Green Bay might get dicey. I like the idea of having Kaepernick on MNF knowing what I need to win.

Probably just Edelman vs. Amendola.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Rivers is going to crap the bed against the Raiders for some reason. My other choices are Fitzpatrick or Rodgers if he's active. Probably sticking with Rivers, but I am prepared to get bonerated.

Have to decide between

C. Patterson and E Sanders

KC or Tenn

Jennings, Ivory, or D Williams flex

T Gonzalez @ SF or T Wright @ ST.L te

So basically half of my team could go either way, PPR with .1 per 1yd and 6 per td. I'm not liking the match ups this week with any of my players, should lose by 30.

Because of injuries, Harry Douglas and James Jones production has been pretty bad. Between those guys and Patterson, I need a WR2.

Woodhead vs MJD as well.

I say Jennings for sure

Fitzpatrick or matt ryan, woodhead or greg jennings as a ppr flex. tenn vs buf vs st louis

im leaning on woodhead for the bounceback, but jennings is solid with cassel.

Im 99% sure im rolling with fitz has had less than 18 points in his time since taking over.

Defense I have no idea, I stashed Tenn for JAX but henne makes them interesting. If they shut down MJD and Shorts though maybe, buffalo will get their sacks against Miami but its not so sunny at the Bills. I haven't seen St Louis D much this season can some one tell me why they are a name that keeps popping up?

Stacy

Bernard

CJk?

AND

Need to fill my 2 WR positions with...

Crabtree

Garcon

Stuck like Chuck with my WR's and haven't picked the right (top 2) combination in a few weeks. Starting two between Pierre Garcon, Andre Johnson, Mike Wallace, and Antonio Brown in a .5 ppr. Leaning on Brown and Garcon to go this week, refuse to start Andre Johnson after last week and I have not sat him once this year and hate to do that

Who is my RB2 in 0.5 PPR? Vereen, Morris or Mathews

I'd Fitz and/or Welker don't play? Who are my WR 2 and/or 3? T Williams, Randle or D Moore

Some others have mentioned it. If Rodgers plays, do I start him with the rust factor? Its a 2 qb leahue. So Foles is starting regardless but my other options are Alex Smith who's red hot and Fitzpatrick who's been pretty good. Toughest choice of the week.

Need to fill WR3 and FLEX position with two of Andre Brown, Larry Fitzgerald, Brian Hartline, Jordan Todman (if MJD sits), Anquan Boldin, Riley Cooper, or a high-upside crazy pick like Da'Rick Rogers or Justin Hunter.

I'm leaning towards getting Hartline in there against the Bills. Otherwise, a lot hinges on Fitz and MJD injury status.

I'd have trouble not playing Alex Smith right now.

...things you never thought you'd say.

I basically have the same tough decisions every week:

L. Bell vs Stacy in RB2 slot.

2 out of Allen, Jeffery and V-Jax in WR slots (or all three and bench Graham - we only have a WR/TE slot rather than just TE).

I've been benching Stacy and Jackson every week pretty much and will likely do so again.

Stacy vs Gore at RB.

Gore has the juicy matchup vs Atl, but hasn't been getting a lot of love in the passing game. I worry he winds up with a 13 carry game.

Stacy's matchup less of cupcake, but they're feeding him big time. He's been pretty consistent as a low end RB1 while Gore's touches and points have faded.

Lean: Stacy.

Mike Wallace vs Rod Streater

Wallace has been so hit or miss all season. He's been really good 3 of the last 4 weeks on the heels of Tannehill improving. Did solid against Buff earlier in the year.

Streater is probably the safer option. Hasn't had an AWFUL game since the Giants on Nov 10th.

Both with pretty solid matchups.

Lean: Wallace. Has been hot, Dolphins playing for the Playoffs.

Need to sit ONE

Dez

Demaryius

Alshon

Josh

Kinda cant make a bad choice but can at the same time as any could post 25+

Unless your RBs are trash, you should dominate this.

Dez has a TD in 3 straight, gets the Skins

Jeffery has 4 TDs in his last 3. Should be a shoot out vs the Eagles

Gordon has 8 TDs in his last 7, is on some unholy pace

DT--was down last week--gotta expect the Broncos to come out looking to bounce back.

RB are

Charles and Lacy

Thinking of sitting DT with so many targets in Denver

Romo or Rivers

Strong lean towards Rivers; just don't trust Romo or the coaching staff. Murray has been running well & after the week 15 debacle, I could see Romo retreating back into the shell he's been in since the Denver game, i.e, not throwing it more than 10 yds downfield. Chargers won't have the "gotta keep Peyton off the field" needs this week, but doesn't mean they won't try to run it 35+ times again. Gonna need the Raiders to score some points too.

Bengals or Titans

do not trust either based on recent play; lean towards the home Bengals. I'm out of FAAB (blind bids only, no waiver wire, no $0 bids), so I'm stuck (not that there are any worthwhile DSTs available anyway)

My only decision probably comes up if Rodgers starts - I'm pretty much locked into Charles and Lacy at RB, and Gordon and Jeffery at WR. Flex is either R. Bush or Nelson.

I have those two as well and am almost certainly going with rivers regardless. After the way the chiefs thrashed the raiders, and green Bays tougher match up, and the rust factor...My only other one that might be up for debate is Colston vs Cooper, but I'm leaning very heavily towards Colston.

QB: Romo, Luck, Dalton, Culter, or Cousins
Wow-why do you have 5 qb's

That said-strike Luck and Dalton off the bat....Id probably feel most confident in Cutler...
I actually have 3 - Romo, Luck, Rodgers. Dalton, Cutler, and Cousins are available. Pretty confident I can get which ever one I wanted. This league was not very active during the season and I can't imagine it being really active at all now that there are only 2 teams left.

I was thinking about going with Dalton...but now I think I am leaning towards Cutler.

Dalton matchup is good...but so is Cutler and Cousins...If its my $ I'm trusting the guy with 2 great WRs and the great match up with the Eagles. I just cant trust Dalton

I've had a remarkably consistent roster all year. Drafted Luck, Charles, Bush and VJax and have started them every single week outside of byes/injuries. (Added Keenan Allen and Carolina D off the WW a few weeks in and have started them consistently as well). And yet, I'm giving serious thought to some big shake-ups this week:

QB: Luck's play the past two weeks has made me feel a lot better about him. But in the meantime, I picked up Cutler a couple weeks ago. Last week they basically put up the same stats, but this week Cutler has a much better match-up. As of now, I'm leaning Cutler.

Flex (WR/TE): Ever since Blackmon's suspension, I've had Stevie Johnson in the role, but between his injuries and personal issues, he really hasn't been producing. Have a claim in on Streater and will almost certainly start him even if Stevie does play. If I don't get Streater, might roll with Marlon Brown, but I won't feel good about it.

TE: Oy. Traded for Gronk a few weeks ago. Last week went with Tamme over Fleener, which remarkably enough turned out to be the right decision (1/9 vs 0/0). This week, I'm definitely moving on from Tamme, but deciding between Fleener and whoever I get off the WW: MLewis, Quarless, Eifert or Griffin (in that order). With Shorts out for the season, I'm leaning Lewis if I get him, but I basically have zero expectations.

D: Could pick up STL, but will probably just stick with Carolina facing Brees on grass.

RB

Moreno, Gio Bernard, M Ball

Only one

Leaning Gio as i start p manning and d thomas for denver and the great p3 didnt help me last week after killing it all season
