*** Super BOWL XL Game Thread *** (1 Viewer)

Seattle looks like they can move the ball early - but Pitts D is not allowing any yards after the catch....I think both teams look a little on edge early - as to be expected.

Observations so far:

- Jackson looks to figure more prominantly in this than I figured (although I figured he'd be in the thick of it).

- PIT OL better shake the jitters or it could be a lonnnnng day.

- Yeah Hass could've had a first on that slide if he was paying attention; that's one of the weakest half-#### efforts I've ever seen in a SB. Also he just threw that pathetic pass that should have been an INT. He's not exactly a carry-the-game kinda guy. Luckily for him, he doesn't have to be. (PS that miss could really come back to haunt PIT in the end if it's a tight game)

- I maintain that SA will have a big day and that FWP will be COMPLETELY ineffective all day....which will be PIT's undoing.

Side note: that was the worst anthem singing I've seen since Rosanne. gawd. But Aretha has a bright future in Star Wars movies.

I know this is off topic; but have there been any commercials so far that anyone has liked??

DJax looking really good this first quarter. When will Pitts make the adjustment on him??.

That was sad. Yes, it was a horrendous call, but no, the refs are not trying to throw the game. It was bad call. Nothing more.

Wow, I'm rooting for Pittsburgh all of a sudden.

Seattle fans are NOT impressive in this thread.
Sorry, any decent fan of the game knows that's not a great call. Not the worst... but a bad call, he did touch him, but did he push him off... no way, shape or form. Period.

I'm not a Seattle of Pittsburg fan - I just want to see a good or great game! Calls like that take away form the game IMHO....

Heh, whatever. I still felt he pushed a little (arm was slightly flexed when Jackson touched him, then extended)Either way, screaming a "fix" after a call, good or bad, is a quick way to show low class. Not saying that was you, but there's no reason for that.

No, just hate to see a TD, much less a laser pass, and good move in the end zone ...end up as that.My other fear is an "incidental" face mask, coming up as a 15-yd penalty. I thought 15yd face masks were reserved for malicious intentful and pulling someone down by the mask.,... not grabbing, then 2 seconds later, letting go... can't remember the last 5 yd face mask penalty.

There'll be another incorrectly called 15 in this game.

I could see why they called it (there was the tiniest push off), but it was a bad call imo. He had position, and would have caught the ball regardless.

I'm not a Seahawk or Steeler fan.

Who said fix?

That is the correct call.
What was that... throw the flag 10 seconds after... then figure out if it's a penalty. Let them play... give a warning. Please don't let this SB be decided by officiating...!!! :wall: :wall: :wall:

It's been implied a few times. And no, I'm not going to call anyone out.

Huh?You can't just NOT throw flags. Then the game is decided by non-officiating.

They discussed, then made the right call. What's wrong with that?

I can't complain about the call although I think we've all seen more egregious cases go unpunished.

Seems the Seattle defense is building a little confidence right now. If they can keep the Steelers' offense off the field, then something good is bound to happen for Hasselbeck and Jackson.

Yea I went thru the thread and no one said "FIX" Most of the thread seems to be pro Seattle so there is the complaints toward every call that goes against them. But what do you expect when all the Steeler fans are at the game or in Detroit or Vegas? :towelwave:

No problem -- but none of the complainers said it was a fix -- not yet ayway! :)
