Super Bowl XLI (1 Viewer)

Same question as who wins the AFC Championship. Chargers or Ravens.I'll go with...San Diego, Super Chargers.
I don't think it's that easy. I will be surprised if they both even make it to the AFC championship. I think they're both very good teams, but invincible? Not even close. San Diego was only a TD better than a pretty average Seattle team last week. And there's still the issue of "what will playoff pressure do to Rivers?". Baltimore? I think they're the better bet to get through, but I'm not sold on them as a sure bet. I think the AFC is wide open, with anybody but the Colts capable of getting it done (no matter who gets in, but assuming Denver/Jets), and the Colts only unable to, simply because of their inability to stop the run. With the teams in the field, that hole becomes a chasm, as they try to compensate, the pass opens up even more. They may be able to win a game, but 3 to GET to the SB, and 4 to win it? I can't see it happening. Every team has weaknesses, but theirs is larger than anybody elses, and their recent inability to win games, from 11-0 to 12-4, has to be weighing on the team.

I like SD chances, but as last year showed us, the playoffs are open for anyone to win (were the Steelers ever favored?). Records go out the door.

I will be cheering for my Patriots...but it will be a hard road to get to the SB!

Indy fan here so take this with a grain of salt, but here's my predictions for the road to get there (so you can understand why I picked an NFC team to win it all):

IND will get NYJ or DEN in the 1st round - IND wins and advances to BAL

NE will get NYJ in the 1st round - NE wins and advances to play SD

IND will win at BAL - IND actually matches up decently against this tough D

NE will win at SD - flip a coin in this one, but I'll take experience in this one

IND will win vs NE to advance to the SB

PHI will play NYG - PHI wins and advances to play NO

SEA will play DAL - DAL wins and advances to play CHI

PHI will beat NO

CHI will beat DAL - will be a LOT closer than expected though

CHI will beat PHI

CHI will beat IND in SB XLI

I am just responding to an above post that says the Chargers are "only a touchdown better than the Seahawks"

c'mon man.....that logic is beyond silly and I hope you don't actually think that's a valid point. If you are going to take 1 regular season game and make it the end all be all of a teams value then I suppose the Dolphins are 18 points better per game then the Bears since they beat them 31-13?

and besides.....being "only a touchdown better" is still winning the game and I'm sure the Chargers would gladly take being "only a touchdown better" in each and every game from here on out until they hoist the trophy.

as for my prediction......I'm taking 2 ( I know, not fair) Chargers or Ravens to win the superbowl.

The Chargers and Ravens are clearly the class of the NFL right now. One of them wins it. My bet right now would be the Chargers.

 It was a ridiculous argument to begin with, then throw in the fact that Seattle is a playoff team and a definite contender in the NFC.As for me, I also think it comes down the the Chargers and Ravens. If they meet in the AFC championship, I would take the Ravens.

Oh what the hell, might as well... Who takes it all for the 2006 season?
New England makes a serious run but I would not be surprised if San Diego pulls out the stops. I respect the Ravens and their team, I would have to say that they would be my #3 choice to win it all. So, these are my picks: 1 NE2 SD3 BAL4 NO5 PHI (Got some strange feeling)6 IND7 CHI8 NYJ9 DAL10 NYG11 KC12 SEA

Not necessarily a prediction of who wins the Superbowl but about who will be there. I think it will be the SD Chargers against the New Orleans Saints. If pressed, I'll have to say the Chargers because the AFC is a much better conference than the NFC right now.

NE beats NYJ

KC beats Indy

Seattle beats Dallas

Philly beat NYG

SD beats KC

NE beats Balt

NO beats Philly

Seattle beat Chicago

NE beats SD

NO beats Seattle

New Orleans Superbowl Champs   :loco:

Great start on that prediction, btw.
