I'm thinking that it could be similar to the last Super Bowl with the Steelers (vs. the Seahawks). Arizona has never been there before. Pittsburgh knows how to take care of business. Contrasting styles of the two teams couldn't be more different. Arizona's defense is underrated but Pittsburgh's is among the best of all-time. Arizona only gets this many points based on their prolific offense.

Pittsburgh 27

Arizona 17

Feels a lot like the BCS championship game. High powered offense that hasn't faced a defense like anything they're going to see in the title game. Same results expected as the better all-around team gets it done to win the rings.

Pittsburgh 30

Arizona 22

Pittsburgh Steelers. Defense wins championships.
:goodposting: I'll take defense every time.
Yes, but the Eagles came into the NFC championship game with the better defense and lost. In the first half and on the final drive, Arizona found seams and picked up blitzes whenever it had to. There's no reason to think they couldn't do the same against Pittsburgh. I still think Pittsburgh will win based on the experience factor, but I expect the game to be close.

I expect it to be close also.I still will take the #1 defense.

I can't help but think that Ken Wisenhunt and Russ Grimm will come up with some good game planning to find weak spots in the Pittsburgh defense.

I'll take the Cardinals 27-24 in a squeaker.

I think it's a mistake to bet against Warner right now. The guy is ice, and with even a little bit of protection can rip any secondary apart.

I love the Steelers defense, but their offense is anything but scary. I think Warner makes enough plays to win a fairly low scoring affair.

Cards 21, Steelers 16

Agreed, I think the Cards find a way to make the offense work and the Steelers O-line isnt what it was in years past. I look for it being a replay of the Ari Philly game, maybe a little less scoring. 27-20 Cards.

I didn't see the Cardinals post game celebration, but when the Steelers won the AFC championship I don't remember them thanking God publicly at the podium. They did thank the fans and the troops though.

The only one that's been able to stop Fitzgerald from beating them recently has been his baby's mama. Santonio Holmes has shown that same type of toughness before and upon further review he's been playing pretty well as of late. May the best man win.

Are you saying they shouldve thanked God? Im just a little confused cause i didnt get where that was heading.

Warner thanked Jeebus and the fans. The rest of the dudes thanked the fans.Is that OK?

I hope everyone keeps thinking and saying the Cards are going to lose. Let's not stop a good thing now.

:lmao: Huh? 45% are picking the Cardinals. They are getting as much "picking" as the Steelers.Considering they have a 3 game difference in the loss column, its an even split.
By "everyone" I don't mean the dudes on the FBG message board. I mean everyone.

They are just the second 9 win team ever to get to the Super Bowl. What do you expect?

I expect everyone to keep doubting and disrespecting them. And that is just fine.

AZ hasnt been there before? True, but they've been in some big games three weeks in a row, the SB will be no different. Let's hope the officiating isnt similar to the Steelers/Seahawks SB...

 You can say Arizona may handle it well, be well coached and prepeared, etc. But you definitely can't say the Super Bowl is just like any other playoff game.

Pitt cannot play catch-up football, if/when Az gets a 10+ lead on them, this game is over..Az jumps out to early leads and doesn't look back, I'd expect that to continue...Pitt will NOT be able to run the ball effectively, Az has shut down Michael Turner, D' Williams/J. Stewart, and now Brian Westbrook in consecutive weeks. FWP is a chump compared to these other RB's.What I saw yesterday was a Pitt team that left WR's open all over the field, but Flacco made some very poor throws and was off-target..Warner is as precise as anyone who's ever played the game, he's extremely accurate and plays extremely well in the postseason..

I'll bet a bag of bagels that Ike Taylor gets trounced by Fitz and/or Boldin

I'll take the Whisenhunt/Grimm combo, coaching against their former players and co-workers, any day... :goodposting:

This could be like the Callahan/Gruden SB - TB vs. Oakland, where Gruden seemed to know the Oakland playbook

as if he was in the offensive huddles and knew what they were going to call..

I think Whisenhunt knows the tendencies of this offense and more importantly, knows the tendencies of the Pitt coaching staff, more than Tomlin knows the Cards ..

should be a GREAT game.

But I'll go with the former employees beating their former employers :pirate:

Az wins

Quit making up "disrespect'. The Cardinals have earned a ton of respect, fully. If you are talking about their history, well then maybe you have a point based on their own efforts.

But this team? The team playing today and in two weeks? Noone is doubting them.

48% Cardinals

52% Steelers

Look at that map the entirety of western USA is picking the Cards.

Including all 17 of the westernmost states.
Who is making up disrespect? We've been home dogs twice in the playoffs, and once to a team that had the same number of wins as we did. We were 10 point dogs in Carolina. That is HUGE in a playoff game. No national analyst picked the Cards to win any playoff games. Collinsworth said the Cards were the worst playoff team in the history of the NFL. So no one is making the disrespect up. It is there. Now things may be different, but it doesn't change the fact that the Cards fed off the disrespect for the last three weeks. All I'm saying is I would like it to continue because it helps motivate them. If people now are starting to realize that this team is actually pretty good, then that's great. Welcome.

Whisenhunt, maybe. Grimm  .The interesting thing is that Whisenhunt and LeBeau know each other's systems so well. This is going to be as much of a chess game as it is a football game.I am going to have think about this game for a week or so but right now I'll be a homer and say:Steelers 27Cards 20

I still like the Steelers in this game but also remember that this isn't going to be played in cold weather so Pitt may not have as much as a percieved advantage and Arizona won't be affected by the elements of weather like some of their late season flops at NEngland and Philly. Also, I thought AZ did a fine job of picking up Philly's blitz packages and gave Warner time to throw downfield. They're certainly going to see more in the SB, and IF Arizona can continue to protect Warner, this game might be closer than you think.
