Super Sleepers Week 7 (1 Viewer)

Lots of important teams and players out with a bye. Sometimes you gotta dig deep. I give you:

Nate Washington-- He's probable to return this week and Houston is without Cecil Shorts. Nate was already averaging 9 targets per and 70 yards before his injury and with Shorts on the field. Although Nuk has been unstoppable, all teams will be focusing on him which has been giving quite a few targets to the #2 as well.

He's on your waiver if you are desperate and would make a real nice PPR guy.

Who else do you got?

Does Matt Jones count? Chris Thompson is going to be out, so maybe we'll finally get to see Jones involved in the passing game.

Bryan Walters. Jags WR. I was intrigued this week by his 12 targets. 8 of them came while Robinson was still in the game. He might be staking a claim to a Welker type role in the Jags offense. Very long shot though.

Malcolm Floyd for this week only vs the Raiders secondary, with Rivers coming off a 500 yard game. Thank me later.

ETA: Keenan Allen probably not going to play from what I hear from local beats.

I can't thank you later on this one. He's a below average one trick pony deep ball guy. Every time he's been in a position to get more targets, he exposes himself as a horrible route runner with suspect "win the ball" hands. Just ask Phillip Rivers every time I see them play. He wants to strangle him.

I will also add Ladarius Green. I know he's been pretty productive even with Gates around but I've seen him turned loose quite a bit in leagues and Gates is hurt and not practicing. He could be a real gem against Oakland's suspect LB pass coverage.

Stevie Johnson if he really returns for reasons above. Obviously Diggs again, but I don't consider him a sleeper anymore. Michael Floyd against Baltimore. His targets seem to be rising and baltimores secondary is a disaster. I also agree with the earlier poster about Nate Washington. Especially with Cecil shorts out

I picked up Ladarius early in the week, then snagged Reed after I heard he was practicing.

Now it's a dilemma because of the respective defensive matchups.

IMO I'd go with green. A guy in my league made the same mistake.

What's the mistake?

I 3rd dorial green-Beckham. An uncoverable beast of a wr with sticky hands getting starters snaps on a bad team playing catchup? Sign me up! Just trying to figure out a way to sneak him into my lineup over more proven options.

FWIW:

Thu, Oct 22

The Union-Tribune San Diego reports there's "plenty of optimism" about Keenan Allen's (hip) Week 7 status.

Advice: Allen has yet to practice this week, but ran on a treadmill Thursday. A third straight "DNP" on Friday would put Allen's availability in serious jeopardy, but most signs suggest he'll suit up against the Raiders.

Let's throw in an idiot kicker. Dan Carpenter has been struggling for Buffalo but playing the Jags gives you plenty of opps and might be on your WW.

Liking the Michael Floyd call. Brown has a hammy issue (will still play I assume), but Floyd is trending up.

Stedman Bailey
I hope you are correct with this as I have him in all my dynasty leagues but have been losing faith. I thought he would develop into a good FF WR3 by now but not sure if it is him or the system keeping him down..........

Question: What's the difference between a desperation play and a what-the-heck flex?
I think it depends largely on your team's record and how much of a favorite you might be in your particular matchup.5-1 or heavy favorite= "What the heck"

2-4 bye week/ injury issues ="Ahhhhh.. #!($=!! desperation time"

Mettenberger has a faster release then Mariota and is not hobbled with a bad knee. I see as a better situation for DGB.
