Super Sleepers Week 8 (1 Viewer)

My super sleepers are players not being talked about, a desperation play and are probably on your WW.

Miami @ New England in a pretty epic TNF matchup right now. NE is 5th against the rush which should limit Lamar Miller. NE loves to gameplan for your primary weapon which is Jarvis Landry right now.

I give you Kenny Stills. He just overtook Jennings for the starting gig 2 weeks ago. If you judge him by last week, it looks ugly but stay with me. He was nursing a back injury from the week before so Miami limited his touches in a blowout win. Now you have to keep pace with NE on the road. He's a homerun guy so if you feel like the underdog this week and need a dart throw, Stills is the guy.

Who do you got?

That rookie TE in Oakland - Clive Walford. Can't expect much but Del Rio says he's a capable blocker & he's getting more snaps.

I actually almost mentioned him. With Revis possibly matching up with Cooper, Carr may look for other options like Crabtree and Walford.

Was gonna mention a Jets TE vs Oak. But then I realized the Jets don't have a Tight End.

Is it really possible that Jets' TE's have a COMBINED 3 catches over 6 games? That's insane.

Still though, maybe start Cumberland and hope? :P

My thinking as well. Plus, the Jets are very hard to run on, so I expect Carr to air it out early and often.
I think seth Roberts is the flyer play for this game. Nothing crazy but I'm saying 4-75-1

I will throw out Khiry Robinson. Yes he just scored 2 TDs but people are viewing it as a one game vulture. The Cowboys just ran all over the Giants, I can see the Saints go committee again and Khiry getting another score or two. Josh Hill may be an end zone target again as well.

More of a watch list guy to monitor rather than a pickup, but Justin Hardy will get some snaps in the slot with Hankerson out. Small & quick, not a burner, but Ryan is pimping him.

Nate Washington :hophead:
The funny thing is that he really is a pretty good play again this week. He's going against his former team and Shorts has been ruled out again. I'm struggling with a flex decision of him, Marvin, or Ladarius and leaning Marvin. Washington is quite tempting though.

I'm going to flex Nate this week, but my other options aren't great: Abdullah, Darkwa, Snead or Gates (injured)

Stevie Johnson- 2nd week back from injury. Going up against a terrible Baltimore secondary. I don't know if Washington and Diggs are still considered deep sleepers, but I'm starting them again for the second straight week.

Dunno what the chances are but J Gray running all over NE tonight with an extra lineman in most the time Dan Campbell motivational football!!

I knew this was a reach but man, he is getting Tannehilled right now. Totally predetermined throws. This is why I will never draft this QB. The lights get bright and he closes his eyes.

I think Gray was thinking a little too much about NE and making an impression. He has looked clueless and desperate to make a play.

From my duplicate thread.

No one really jumps out at me this week, here are a couple on LONG shots.

Donteea Dye-- Moves into #3 WR for the bucs after Louis Murphy tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in Week 7. Going up against Atlanta, could see some work in garbage time. Boom or bust for this week I think. Someone else on waivers could get you 3-5 in ppr, here you could end up at 0 or double digits. 7-82 in 4 games preseason.

Justin Hardy-- Could be the #3 WR for the Falcons with Hankerson almost assuredly out this week. Going up against the Bucs which could be worrisome if Atlanta gets up big early. Hasn't even started a game this year. 11-130 in 4 games preseason. Definite long shot.

Yeah agree 100%. Kinda what I meant by putting his name again. He's awesome! probably approaching non-sleeper status.

Tyler Lockette this week anyone?

Had his career game last week, and the cowboys got burned by dwayne harris on a kick return

Titans might be without their top CB, and maybe they pass more without foster? seems like a really good play this week

He's one I considered. But I just can't stand the boom/bust factor. I would rather take Nate Washington, where I know I'm getting the targets (for now anyway). Yes, Nate's similar in the boom/bust factor but that may be changing with all that's going on in Houston.

I think people have a hard time grabbing an older WR when all they remember is his mediocrity and unpredictability. But with Shorts out, what else is there? Hopkins is so good that Defenses are focusing on him in a big way. And now with Foster done, and the team chasing weekly, the targets will be there for someone.

I have to admit, I had trouble pulling the trigger on him but the situation seems ripe right now.

Plus it's a little insurance. And if you own Hopkins, it's a no-brainer, especially when you see what else is out there.

Look, guys handcuff RB's like crazy. If you believe in that philosophy, then Nate is more than a thought. Garbage time counts too, last I checked.

I would be in on Washington too if he didn't get scooped up, ##### in my league overheard me talking about him and beat me to the punch. Now I've gotta dig deeper for this week

dye is actually starter this week and seems like he's getting a lot of good vibes throughout organization

Who is next in line after Bush? I could easily see both Hyde and Bush out for the season here soon enough. Just curious if anyone knows and if that player has any talent? Is it the rugby player? I am not sure....

Hardy needs his own thread. I don't see one.

It is possible he does well with the new opportunity earning a permanent role in the offense similar to how Diggs has.

Not sure he's nearly as talented but it's going to be interesting - I definitely think the Falcins have him as a featured part of their game plan this week. Not very big but loves to block, super aggressive, makes violent cuts. Quick not fast. Expecting to see him used on bubble screens & quick slants. Get him the ball quick & see what he can do with it type WR.

Unlike Diggs I don't think he's considered an outside WR, but scouts are so predictable. Every guy under 6' who doesn't run a sub-4.50 is a slot receiver.

Wait n see situation but worth monitoring.

Ben Watson. Disregard the age. Brees lives throwing to the te and Watson's usage has been increasing every week. Last week he almost scored 2 tds. Tackled rt near the gl. Which led to short yardage tds for The RBS.

Had that gone differently he'd have been the hottest ww pickup this week.

This week he plays the Giants (at home) who are horrible at covering the te. They give up the 5th most Pts to the te position.

I'm almost considering plugging in watson over Randall Cobb in a tough matchup vs Denver in Denver. I know, I'm nuts...

Kenny Britt, the 49er secondary has been giving up a lot of points to wrs. The downside is will they have to throw at all? Orleans Darkwa against a poor Saint run D. We are depending on Coughlin to give him 10+ touches, which isn't a guarantee. Ahmad Bradshaw at Carolina, his snaps have went from 26% to 46%. Carolina has given up a lot of points to rbs in the last 4 weeks. Bradshaw missed training camp, this is his 3rd week. These guys should only be considered in 14+ team leagues.

reggie bush is washed up. look elsewhere
You mean like Chris Johnson?

You grab Bush and ask questions later.

Stranger things always seem to happen.
CJ2K was always a better fantasy option than Bush. Also, he plays for one of the best offences in the league. Bush plays for one of the worst. I think the answer to the "who will have fantasy value with Hyde out?" question is "nobody." Although, I must admit I picked up Hayne simply for that fact that if he's any good at all, we get to see more of this.

Bush was washed up when he left the Saints. (2660 yfs in 31 games for Dolphins)

Then when he left the Dolphins. (2062 yfs in 25 games for Lions)

Then when he left the Lions. (??)

I love the Rugby fans commentary. Should get some more folks from OZ to do play by play.

Bridgewater starting to throw the hamburger, now.
Its like football and iron chef rolled into one.

The New York Post expects Orleans Darkwa to be "given an opportunity for a consistent role."
Darkwa is expected to get the first chance at carries after leading the Week 7 backfield in touches. OC Ben McAdoo’s decision to get him involved last week suggests the Giants are ready to move on from early-down plodders Rashad Jennings (3.7 YPC) and Andre Williams (2.9 YPC). There’s a lot of hype for Darkwa, but his role uncertainty behind an offensive line that’s struggled give him a low-floor. Playing in his college-town and a threat for 10-plus carries, Darkwa has potential to put distance on Jennings as the Giants’ lead back.

Re: Bush

I think that it is fair to say that he is probably not a long-term option, considering that the next 4 weeks have a bye and 3 top-10 rush defenses, but I don't see how he is not a good play for this week.

dont sleep on this guy....hes gonna gain control of that crazy giants backfield

Not sure he's super sleeper but the Broncos D has been vulnerable to the TE. So Richard Rodgers may be a big target for Aaron.

It will be interesting to see if this tendency holds true.

The Broncos pass rush is so good that I think a lot of teams will use their TE to help block more. Rodgers is very mobile and perhaps they don't need to do this as much.

Kelce and Ebron did ok against them. Oakland had 4 catches between Rivera and Walford. So they have been giving up some receptions to TE.

Barnridge with 2 TDs as well. TJ Ward is not the best in coverage

I don't know what to make of r bush today. I have a feeling that the sf offense is going to take a beating at the hands of that ferocious stl defensive line.

But the potential for 15-20 touches makes him a really intriguing flex option on workload alone. What are people thinking?

He's hard to trust because he gets injured so often with more touches.
