Superbowl Party Betting Games (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any classic betting games they play at Super Bowl parties? Like those betting squares (I still dont totally know how those work, someone want to explain) or anything other betting game?

Ive heard of Pass the Cup. someone holds a cup and calls out a play (ex. Touchdown) then after every play you pass the cup and stick a dollar in it till a TD happens, whoever has the cup when that happens gets the money.

Every year I create a list of about 20 questions. They range from most total yards, to MVP, to INTs, to longest TD, to "will there be a 120 yard rusher"?, etc... They are all multiple choice. This year, there are only two choices for each question. Some are of the "will any of the following happen" variety, with about 5 random, unlikely events. $10 to play. Most answers correct, winner take all. Total points is the tiebreaker.

If there are hot wimmins at the party, each of them has to remove an article of clothing every time a team manages to achieve one of those RARE first down thingies...

Good luck. We're all counting on you.

--everytime they say Bus, drink

--everytime they show Jerome's family-- drink

--everytime they show Cowher's jaw, drink

--every mention of Seattle's 'lack of respect'- yep, drink

--every turnover-- drink a shot

---every sack- drink a shot

I like this idea and adding to it - any other good ones we can add to the list? I would like to get a couple more ideas for the seattle side ...Super Bowl XL

Pittsburg Steelers VS Seattle Seahawks

The Drinking Game

Every time a team scores - drink

Every time there is a lead change - drink

Every time there is a turnover - drink

Every time there is a defensive touchdown - drink 5

Every time they say "bus" - drink

Every time they show Bill Cowher's grimacing jaw - drink

Every time they show Jerome Bettis’ family - drink

Every time Troy Polamalu gets a tackle - drink

Every time they mention Jerome Bettis’ "Homecoming" - drink

Every mention of Seattle's "lack of respect" - drink

Every time they show Matt Hasselbecks’ wife - drink

Every time Shaun Alexander scores - drink 5

During the last 2 minutes of either half, double the amount of drinks taken for any of the aforementioned events.

Struck me as funny that there are 12 "steps" in this game. :hey:

Cut up squares of paper, and write down the names of star offensive players on them. You'll have Alexander, Bettis, Parker, Ward, Djax, etc. Depending on how many people are playing, you can go deeper with some of the secondary guys, as well as the two QBs. Be sure to also include each team's defense and special teams (either together or separate, again depending on how many people are playing). Finally, include a square for each team that says "other".

Put all the squares in a hat. Everyone who wants in pays $5 (or whatever) and gets to draw a square. Then, whoever holds the square of the last player to score a TD gets the pot.

Tons of fun, since whoever's holding the name of the most recent TD is hoping there aren't any more and everyone else wants their guy to get the ball. It's especially fun to have the "other" square (which has become unofficially known as the "miscellaneous white guy" square).

Betting squares, as in 10x10 (=100)? If yes then the way that works is you sell a blank square for a fixed amount, $1, $2, $5, $10 or $100. After ALL the squares are sold, get a group of people to witness the selection of numbers that would be picked randomly, as in using a deck of cards Ace to 10 and that would determine the slots. So whomever had 0 for Pitt and 3 for Seattle after the first quarter would win $X.00....etc..etc for the rest of the quarters.

For the one that we do at work, it's $100 a square with the prize money being... $1400 for exact score after 1st qtr

$1500 for exact score after 2nd qtr

$2000 for exact score after 3rd qtr

$3000 for exact final score.

ALSO $500 for the reverse score for each quarter.

(the guy who runs this gets a free square for doing everything)

Other things that we'd done over the years, and this is an easy one. Based on how many people you have over your place, hopefully at least 10, write out names from both teams on a piece of paper and for $10 or $20, everyone draws a name out of a cup or hat. For this game you could go with Ben, Bettis, Parker, Ward, Randle-El and Pittsburgh FIELD and Hasselbeck, Alexander, Jackson, Engram, Stevens and Seattle FIELD. The FIELD picks would be EVERYONE else on that team so everyone is covered.

Also another one that we do is total points for $10, with under beating over.
