there will be a game there on September 24 you idiot
That's funny. I'd have thought the person that "mistook" me for an AP writer was the idiot.
Well believing what the media says isn't really brilliant.
j/k......although I believe what I said there...
What gets me is I heard (repeat "heard" not necessary buying for reasons I just stated) they put a new roof on there just a few years ago and it was built to withstand hurricane-force winds, etc. er what the flip over? Did they just forget to pay the insurance bill?
No link, but during that time, I thought they said it could withstand CAT 3 or 4 Winds...Not CAT 5.Also, from the neworleansaints.com website.
SUPERDOME TO RE-OPEN WITH SAINTS HOSTING FALCONS ON SEPT. 24
The New Orleans Saints will return to the Louisiana Superdome for their first regular-season home game there since 2003 when they play host to the Atlanta Falcons on September 24, the NFL announced Sunday.
A 40 x 150-foot mural with the news of the Saints' 2006 home opener was completed on the outside of the Superdome just hours before the kickoff of Super Bowl XL in Detroit on Sunday.
"Superdome officials are pointing to the Falcons-Saints game on September 24 as the first event in the building since Hurricane Katrina," said NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. "We are pleased that this historic re-opening will feature the annual renewal of the traditional Falcons-Saints rivalry."
The spectacular Superdome mural contains the date of the September 24 game; Saints and Falcons helmet logos; and a "Go Saints" slogan. It took four workers nearly five days to complete the challenging project under less-than-ideal weather conditions, including high winds.
The Saints first two regular season games will be played on the road. The locations and dates of those games, as well as the rest of the Saints' and Falcons' 2006 schedules, will be announced by early April.
The Saints plan to play two of their four 2006 preseason games in the Gulf Coast region.
