So when I am not busy plotting the downfall of democracy with the rest of the vast left wing conspiracy I occasionally watch a little TV on the web. Sometimes even when I am, I mean these meetings drag on and on. But I digress. Supernatural on the CW is one of my guilty television pleasures. It isn't going to win any awards but it is a fun show. I was wondering if anyone else is watching. I am intrigued by this seasons story line so far.

Best show on TV.
Wouldn't go that far, but I've been watching since the beginning, and do enjoy the hell out of it. I will say I miss the previous Ruby, though, and I'm hoping the can somehow bring back Bela.
I missed a couple of shows last year. They just wrote her out right? They didn't kill her off? I liked her character.
If you are talking about Bela, the second to the last episode last season revealed she had a similar contract to Dean's, and it ended the same way. But if Dean can be brought back...

Oh yeah I did see that. Well who knows maybe Heaven will need her as well.

BTW would be interested in knowing what you guys think of the story arc this season? The show has been kind of agnostic at best up until now. I have liked the idea of forcing them to deal with the idea that if there is a hell then there is a heaven.

Don't have a problem with it, and am in fact for it. While the show hasn't pointed to any particular faith, there have been a lot of judeo-christian influences in the exorcisms. Extending that to Angels only makes sense. And I'm interested to see which route they will go with them. A lot of story-universes like Supernatural have Angels in them, and they tend to make the Angels just as dangerous as demons, due to a generally very black and white world view. We'll see where this goes.

Seems like they are leaning this way.

last weeks episode was one of the best. Going to be interesting to see what happens between Sam and Dean.

also some good music through the seasons.

I don't care for Bela, but I definitely liked the old Ruby better.

just to be clear Castielle is an Arch Angel, Like Michael and Gabriel. Arch Angels are very dangerous creatures. They are not like Guardian Angels. They are super bad MFers. And yes very dangerous....It has been very interesting what is going on....Obviously Ruby is a minion of the Yellow Eyes. She knows the end game and Sams part in it. Otherwise she would have switched to Lilith

I posted about this show last season and was blasted from some posters about how much the show sucked. Glad to hear that there are other fans. One of my favorite shows on TV. My wife makes always comments on how there's always a hot chick on the show. Don't mind that one bit.

Really enjoy this show as well. Posted about it back during the 2nd season and basically got no responses. Most of the time it's just enjoyable escapism, but I would put the 2nd season episode "Heart" up against some of the top dramatic tv episodes I've seen over the years. I've tried to get some friends hooked on the show with only mild success.

Last week's episode was great. We finally got some answers from back to season 2 about why the mother knew who yellow eyes was. I think the angle they've taken with the storyline this year is excellent. It also harkens back to some earlier episodes when Dean and Sam were dealing with crisis of faith since up until now there hasn't been much evidence of any sort of "god" or "heaven" or "angels."

I also find it humerous that this show is filmed in Canada and has had a lot of recognizable crossover guest stars from other Canadian TV shows. Quite a few Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, and X-Files actors have been in various episodes. Mitch Pileggi being the most recent.

I watched it up until last week. Time Warner dropped the CW channel in the Columbus, OH market. I'll have to catch up online.

My boys really like this show. Our DirecTV took it off and we have to special order the channel to get it again. I've missed so much that I'd have to go back and watch the last 2 seasons to catch up. I like watching it with them.

Always liked him on X Files and was glad to see him make an appearance.

I'm still up in the air on that.

Where?
CW has them on it's website. I watched three shows yesterday.
Ok thanks.

This show has been running on all cylinders lately. This whole season has been lights out, but the last 4 or 5 episodes have been crazy good. I can't decide which episode I've liked the best, Dracula on the scooter, Dean screaming like a little girl at the cat when he caught the ghost sickness, Eye of the Tiger, suicidal Teddy Bear or "Kneel before Todd!"

Last night was the first serious episode in a while.

Eye of the Tiger from the Yellow Fever episode

I haven't watched last night's show yet, but I agree with the sentiment. It is a great show now and this season has been solid throughout. I would say Supernatural might be my second favorite drama behind Lost. Unlike shows like Heroes, this one has gotten better.

Anyone checking this thread out that is any type of a sci-fi fan should check out the show.

My only complaint (with DishHD, not the show) is that since I moved to NCC's neck of the woods, I can't watch the show in HD. It used to come in OTA in the DC market.

Also, I do have one concern. Where do they go next season? When you start dealing with Lucifer and angels, how do you top that? I hope this is a multi-season arc so they can keep doing the X-Files type shows and then wrap up the show with this story arc. It just seems like stopping hell on earth is a big enough story that it might be the end of the show.

Great episode. The girl they introduced last night is an extremely compelling character. Shame that she'll likely only last 2 weeks. The concept of her abilities has all kinds of potential.

Watched last week's episode online the other night. LMAO'd several times, particularly with Todd and the suicidal Teddy, as mentioned above.

I don't think the Lucifer line will be the end. I think ultimately Lucifer will be defeated, and Sam will lead the forces of Hell against Dean and the angels.

I don't think so. Sam and Ruby are the two wild cards. Lilith will try to woo Sam because the angel don't like him. But in the end He sides with dean and is the tipping point for the good guys.

Missed last night's episode since they decided to show the Jets game on the WB last night. I didn't mind since I don't have the NFL Network, but now I have to catch it on the innerwebs. Glad to hear it was a good one.

I still don't think we have a good reason why Ruby is helping them, other than "I used to be human." Could be a plan to eliminate the competition (Lillith), and bring Sam to the dark side at the same time.

I think that is the ultimate plan of the demons, but I think that Dean and Sam will essentially be a third side, fighting both heaven and hell.

I'm just starting off watchimg the show. Like 8 episodes into the first season. Wasn't recommended. I was just bored, with all my fave shows in-season and looked at a poll on-line of the most popular TV shows. It was there, like 20 or so. Looked it up on IMDB and on this thread. Kim Manners? Check! (Big X-Files fan here.) Was looking for some decent SciFi. Goofy Monster of the week horror will do.

Figuring there'll be some development of longer arcs at some point, but not holding my breath. Seems to be all pretty self-contained so far. I figure Dad will show his face. Kinda got spoiled on IMDB this morning, when I was looking up some info on Watchmen, and clicked through to Jeffrey Dean Morgan My eyes picked up that he's pops in Supernatural and how many episodes pops appears in before I even knew it was a spoiler. (Hate that about IMDB. Number of episodes an actor appears in a show is essentially a spoiler, and it's right there out front.)

Anyways, hope I enjoy the rest. Gots a few seasons to go...

Yeah you get a bigger arc as you go. I think they probably figured they'd be cancelled any minute but they survived long enough to find an audience. It's one of my favorites.

Good Show, I've been watching it off and on since the first Season with my two teenage daughters. I have to admit I'm a bit behind, but I like the mix of goofy horror and schtick across the episodes. One of my daughters told me the creator started it with a 5 season story arc in mind. Any info out there on this? I'm thinking if its a 5 season run then this season should really start focusing in on the heaven vs hell line ups. Sadly I'm a bit behind so it may already be happening.

:lmao: Quality show, one of my favorites as well. Lots of humor mixed in with good stories and plenty of action. The story arcs have been pretty good so far and they mix in the X-Files type single episode shows as well. I have to say that the show has definitely gotten better as it goes along although the whole heaven vs. hell part will be interesting. Almost at the end of season 4, so if the 5 season thing is correct above, then I think that may be the last big arc.Man I hope that some good shows are coming since for me BSG is almost over (although it has gotten worse lately), Lost is done next year and 5 seasons for Supernatural would end that next year as well. Heroes took a turn for the worst after the first season although I still watch it after DVR'ing it as did Prison Break, which unfortunately I also recorded to the end. Through in the fact that 24 can't go on a whole lot longer and man there isn't going to be much on for me. I am going to have to find some other things. With 3 little kids, I need something to entertain my brain when they go to sleep.

Just met the blonde hitchhiker girl, daughter of Satan or whatever-she'll-be. Figured she might be destined to have a recurring role from the start, as you don't waste that much cute on a one week sideshow.

Guess I'm just blogging my run through the show by adding onto the thread.

I know it usually takes 7-12 episodes for a show to actually start clicking, both on screen and with the audience. I'm 3/4 through Season One, and I've reached that point with Supernatural.

Parked myself on the couch for two hours last night. Watched Benders, Shadow and Hell House. Life is good.

Good shows. Benders reminded me quite a bit Home (X-Files). Just under ten years later, the ghost-fighting duo have a whack at non-supernatural inbred evil.

Hope it keeps going. At this point, highly recommend the show...

Like any series, there are a few semi-clunker filler episodes, but on the whole, I rate Supernatural just about on par with the first couple seasons of BSG.

 In fact, at this point of BSG, I would rather watch a new episode of Supernatural. No way would I have said that early on in both shows.
