Tell me when and I will be there. If anyone doesn't have a problem, I will just take the NE defense for $35 right now.

That's OK, you're really just one of the extras in this league anyways.I can't, I have a conflict with some slow draft some clown wanted to start early.Ok so now we're down to Thursday. Can anybody not do Thursday of next week?(Chase is maybe)Mondays are always out for me. Otherwise, I'm pretty flexible and can likely participate any other weekday evening or anytime on the weekends. However, Aug. 19th to 22nd is out for me as I'll be out of town on vacation.![]()

big thanks for organizing. I can be there whenever you guys decide.Kev,How soon can you find out about Thursday? With Chase's schedule it looks like that may be best, unless he can do Monday. Is there anybody that can't do Monday or Thursday.(not trying to be bossy, just thought David could use a little help organizing)
Yuck it up now while you can because I'm about to commence a major booting of your collective asses. That's OK, you're really just one of the extras in this league anyways.I can't, I have a conflict with some slow draft some clown wanted to start early.Ok so now we're down to Thursday. Can anybody not do Thursday of next week?(Chase is maybe)Mondays are always out for me. Saturday is August 7th, and there is a Texans-Dolphins scrimmage I'm going to in the early afternoon. I'm not sure how long this thing will take, so don't know if there's time to get it done in the morning before I'd have to meet up with my group from work who are heading out to it together.GregR: No Saturday Afternoon or Evening, 2nd Saturday August 8th?

I'll probably be heading out by 1 pm Central time. Can I get an exact time you are available that morning? Thanks Greg.Saturday is August 7th, and there is a Texans-Dolphins scrimmage I'm going to in the early afternoon. Well, right now it looks like Sunday morning August 8th is our only option(and that's only if EBF's schedule doesn't apply to weekends.) I know that's after the 6th deadline...but it is literally the only time we can all do this. Some of you guys have some pretty messed up schedules! If EBF can get out of his commitment a couple hours early on Thursday...Thursday would still be an option.Good work LHUCKs....I don't want to put you in a bind, but if we do this on Saturday morning as much advanced notice as possible would be fairly important. I'm probably travelling home on Saturday, but I would switch to either Saturday night or Friday night in the event of a Saturday morning draft. Sunday morning would probably be easier in that regards...However, DD said he needed the draft by no later than August 6, which is Friday. On second thought, I may have my days confused here. I may be going home on that Friday anyway. It's too early in the morning (you're reading that right) for me to figure this out. But now I think I should be good at anytime this weekend. I'll get back to you later on today.
Yep. I'm thinking 5-6 hours to be safe. That is why Sunday Morning is probably our best option. If we did it Thursday night the East coast guys will be up very late...unless EBF can get out of his commitment early. If we start at 6 P.M. Pacific Time that is a 9 P.M start time for the East Coast Guys which would mean they'll possibly be up until 3 A.M.How long is it going to take to get through auctioning off 288 players? How long on average does the auctioning of a single player take? With 288 players, every minute we average per player is 5 hours we have to be online, unless we're having multiple players up for bidding at the same time.- G
Well, I'm more worried that 5-6 hours is the bare mininum time it'll take, not the actual amount of time it'll take. But like I said, I have no clue how long on average it takes for a player to be nominated and for bidding to finish on him.Yep. I'm thinking 5-6 hours to be safe. LHUCKS,I am available for any three of those dates if you need a replacement. I'll keep following this thread.1) Our only three options over the next 11 days are:
a) Thursday Evening August 5th - relatively late I think(depending on EBF clarification)
b) Second Saturday August 7th...morning only
c) Second Sunday August 8th...morning only
These are our only three options as of now. If somebody has a problem with any of these speak now.
2) We have not heard from Blitzburgh Monkeypox...a replacement may need to be found.
I'm will to bet that this goes 8 hours.Well, I'm more worried that 5-6 hours is the bare mininum time it'll take, not the actual amount of time it'll take. I did an auction on Xperts and there was a 2 hour limit on each player... hence it took a long time to finish the auction. I think everybody has their price and everybody has their targets. Unless there are some drawn out bidding wars I dont think one player should take more than 10 minutes. That is to start out with and than when everyone or most have their base players... the value starts to increase... the time will go faster because people will weigh the options and be more spur of the moment bidding. If we only have one player up at a time I think it will go fast... if we are to have 12 players up at a time... it will go fast and there will probably be many steals early on.Well, I'm more worried that 5-6 hours is the bare mininum time it'll take, not the actual amount of time it'll take. Looks like strike two for me. 8/8 AM early PM is bad for me. I've got a company outing at the Tiger game (starting 12:30 EDT) - then heading across the street to check out the Lions only open prectice of training camp. As much as I hate to say it - the schedule coupled with my PC issues may force me out of this.Well, right now it looks like Sunday morning August 8th is our only option(and that's only if EBF's schedule doesn't apply to weekends.) Dude.... I'd hate to see you have to drop.Especially as I imagine you paid a hefty price for that replacement soul for this year!Looks like strike two for me. 8/8 AM early PM is bad for me. I hate it too, but with no machine that I can use and a comittment on the only date that seems to work - I don't know what to do. Perhaps I'll just have to use that soul in SoSII.Dude.... I'd hate to see you have to drop.Especially as I imagine you paid a hefty price for that replacement soul for this year!
you could PM a 3rd party your totals for each player that you would like to bid on... a lot of work for you but it could work.I hate it too, but with no machine that I can use and a comittment on the only date that seems to work - I don't know what to do. Problem is, a winning/losing bid on a certain player changes my strategy and the amount I'd be willing to spend for the others at that position, and I'm not sure how to accurately convey that - example:Assume I like Culpepper, Manning, Hasselbeck, McNair and vick as my tier 1 QB and see a big drop off after that. I want one of these guys no matter what. not reality, but an assumption for this example. If I bid and won Culpepper, I'd stay away from Manning, Hasselback, McNair and Vick unless they were going to be stolen at a bargain price. But, if I missed out on Culpepper, Manning, Hasselbeck and McNair, I might try harder (and veer off from that set price) to get Vick. How much? Not exactly sure I could put a specific amount to it ahead of time. Also, if I get a few players cheaper then I think they are worth, I might be more inclined to "overspend" on someone else. But not so if I end up paying market rate the whole time.I'm really a 'gut' kinda guy, at least in a draft (never participated in an auction). I've never projected a stat and never use a hard and fast rating or cheat sheet. My biggest strength is the ability to go with the flow, be flexible and prepared to grab value where and when it appears. I honestly walk into my drafts with almost no idea who I'm going take past round 1 and maybe round 2. I'm afraid I'd lose all that by giving someone a list of players and prices.you could PM a 3rd party your totals for each player that you would like to bid on... a lot of work for you but it could work.I hate it too, but with no machine that I can use and a comittment on the only date that seems to work - I don't know what to do. I'd be good schedule-wise on the weekend of 8/14-15 but still need to find a suitable PC. Maybe the library could work? I'll have to check on that.Edit to say I do have plans 8/14, but not until 7 PM (EDT) or so. I'd hope we could be done by then.We could talk to Dodds about postponing until the next weekend Haze.If the draft is going to take longer than 6 hours Saturday or Sunday Mornings in Genearl are our only options given the schedules.
At this point I'd like Dodds to weigh in with his opinion and some info. We need to know:1) Estimate of draft time2) Can we postpone until Sunday morning the 15th3) If not, who do we replace Haze with?4) Who do we replace Blitzburgh with?5) Do replacements have a problem with Sunday Mornings?Again, Sunday morning the 8th and 15th appears to be the only options. P.S. There must be a a way Haze can find a suitable PC in Detroit.I'd be good schedule-wise on the weekend of 8/14-15 but still need to find a suitable PC. Maybe the library could work? About the only choice I know of right now are my Mom, who is about an hour away and my Brother who is about 2.5 hours away. I don't know too many people that I'd feel good about asking if I could swing by (fairly) early one weekend morning and monopolizing their PC for 5+ hours.P.S. I think Dodds would go with what we all decide to go with. If we have to do a slow draft than start it up and tell everyone when it is... Seriously if we have to put a 3 or 4 hour time clock on each player it will go faster than we think. If everyone uses the "pass" option once they do not want to bid for someone it will go quite quickly. With all of us and our desire to get this done I doube anybody would be disappointed with what team they do end up drafting. Slow is better than not having one... just give up a time and GO.There is now no time that all of us can draft. I've pointed out those days that have the least conflicts.
At this point, I think Dodds just needs to pick a date and those that can't make it are out and replaced.
This is a free chance to win hundreds in cash, not to mention some top-notch competition.
I personally would call in sick to work for the chance to add Dodds, Maxwell, Haze, GregR etc. to my trophy case. To each his own.
At this point I'll just wait to hear from Dodds as far as a course of action.
It is impossible to pick a date and be fair when there isn't a date that has no conflicts. Who am I to choose who can't compete? I'll leave that to Dodds. If somebody has a better way of going about this I'm all ears.I think Dodds would go with what we all decide to go with. If we have to do a slow draft than start it up and tell everyone when it is...
