Susan B Anthony Pardoned--Democrat mad (1 Viewer)

This one time I was driving on a toll road in California and came to an unattended toll booth. This was before fastrak and the like. All I had was a twenty so I put it in the machine and got 18 Susan B Anthony’s back.  Haven’t liked her since but still have one in my golf bag for a ball mark. #coolstorybro

And if you want to be technical, it is in the rules here for us to be excellent to one another. As such, it was difficult to overlook it when you indicated your motivation for this thread. As somebody who wants Republicans to hold ourselves to high standards, your post didn't coincide with that.

So 2 things.   1) Good you don't post about republicans destroying the world.  Kudos to you  2) Stop lecturing about excellent posts.  Again, this board is littered with very unexcellent posts, but those are A-OK as long as they attack the right, Republicans or Trump.

The post office used to give change in SBA dollar coins. I loved that. Found one laying around the other day.

 
Was casting an illegal ballot in 1872 in Rochester, NY a federal crime?  That is, can Trump pardon her at all?  (Which seems relevant in discussions about Trump and state laws.) 

 
This was said earlier, but I really wonder if whomever's idea this was (Ivanka?),  really thought out that he's actually pardoning someone for something he is railing against to save his ### in the election: Voter fraud.   I find that comical 😄

 
Is the pardon controversial? I don't see why. It's a retroactive analogue to jury nullification, which seems appropriate enough in this instance. It's saying that it shouldn't have been a crime for women to vote.

The pardon doesn't seem particularly controversial, other than for the Lieutenant Governor of New York quoted in the first post.

The only reason it's mildly interesting to me is because it so clearly contradicts Trump's larger messages but nobody seems to even care.

Initially surprised this is a story. Didn't understand the outrage at first. Reading that article, it becomes more evident. The fact that she worked to get pardons for others and clearly did not want one for herself is quite telling. And that Trump would grant the pardon and then later note that fact is even more telling that he did this as a publicity stunt instead of looking into it (shocking).

On a scale of 1-100 of things Trump hasn't gotten right, this registers at like a 2 for me. But it's still just another one of those things like tossing paper towels that shows how out of touch he is.

Change it to what, people are mad? The article he linked in your quote doesn’t express whether these people are Democrats or Republicans. There are also some other points in that article I wasn’t aware of, for instance the fact that she didn’t want a pardon. Care to comment on those thoughts, or are you just here to try to make demmies look silly?

Well...The speaker is a democrat.  So there's that.  Board cop made me change it you see because that was the only one in the video at the time. Now, it looks like more than just that one single democrat has come out against it so i was wondering if the board cop would let me change it back to democrats, which it was before I was given a ticket.

I don't need to nor can I make demmies look silly. My point was they are doing that all by themselves by making a case out of this.

The obsession needs to stop man...and demmies? again?   Yeah...good thread...always meant for real civil discourse.

Nobody made you change the thread title...or even asked you to. It was simply pointed out that you were implying it was some movement of democrats or even someone more prominent than a Lt. Governor.

My comment involved more than that...and you know it.  These little games do nothing for the board...stop them.  Its ridiculous and petty.

Move on...and do whatever you want with the thread title...nobody had you change it in the first place.

Kinda of like pointing out I used the word democrats instead of democrat.  Come on Sho...you are the #1 leader in this kind of stuff.  You're being called out on it and it's making you upset.  I'll leave it alone now but maybe next time stop focusing on policing this board.  It does nothing for this board.  Stop it.  It's ridiculous and petty.
