Anyway..I think it's silly democrats came out against this pardon. If you’re grading I’m just fine with that.
Trump will not get credit for doing anything good
I mean my God. Shutup democrats. Just once.
Know how in a fight, the one that retaliates us usually the one that gets in more trouble? Ever hear of that demmies? Just move on. You look utterly silly here.
I guess not. If this ever becomes a serious thread I’d be interested in discussing this, the whole thing is very odd to me.Did Trump provide something explains the reason she was being pardoned?
I agreeAnyway..I think it's silly democrats came out against this pardon.
I posted a link.I was going to come in to this thread to ask "Why are Democrats mad?" but then I see that the thread is nothing but Sho and his followers.
Have fun you guys.
lolAnother silly post. He cant do ANYTHING else? Quit it. Be better than that. Posts like that one take away from intelligent debate.
Why do you think that people should be in favor of this pardon?Anyway..I think it's silly democrats came out against this pardon.
Sooooo not the conversation--this isn't about how I feel about it.Why do you think that people should be in favor of this pardon?
If you think that the Democrats (or at least the one Democrat in your link) are obviously wrong for being critical of the pardon, it seems like you should be able to explain what an appropriate response would be and why.Sooooo not the conversation--this isn't about how I feel about it.
Got any more links of leading Democrats being upset?I posted a link.
I'll take this side. She was tried and convicted of something that she shouldn't have been. A pardon is just, in my opinion. Why do you think that people should be in favor of this pardon?
When you say "she shouldn't have been" what do you mean? The law clearly prohibited her from voting and she knew it. Why shouldn't she be held responsible?I'll take this side. She was tried and convicted of something that she shouldn't have been. A pardon is just, in my opinion.
(However, I must admit I knew little of this before a Google search a few minutes ago.)
No it doesn't.If you think that the Democrats (or at least the one Democrat in your link) are obviously wrong for being critical of the pardon, it seems like you should be able to explain what an appropriate response would be and why.
I just posted the one, sorryGot any more links of leading Democrats being upset?
We should have allowed women to vote from the get-go. A pardon is appropriate because we had bad laws and she was breaking them to show us how wrong they were. When you say "she shouldn't have been" what do you mean? The law clearly prohibited her from voting and she knew it. Why shouldn't she be held responsible?
I have a 16 year old son. I feel strongly that the law limiting voting to people 18 and over is discriminatory. He's smarter and more knowledgeable than the vast majority of voters. Should I encourage him to try to cast an illegal vote this year?We should have allowed women to vote from the get-go. A pardon is appropriate because we had bad laws and she was breaking them to show us how wrong they were.
Been consistently argued here that violating laws is A-Ok if it's for the greater good. So yeah. Do what you think is right..NOT What the law says.I have a 16 year old son. I feel strongly that the law limiting voting to people 18 and over is discriminatory. He's smarter and more knowledgeable than the vast majority of voters. Should I encourage him to try to cast an illegal vote this year?
Except...there is no big reaction to this...the person reacting most was the guy who started the thread complaining about democrats.BULLSEYE!!
Get this man a cupie doll!!
He basically sends half of the enemy into the bushes on a snipe hunt while he focuses on the other half.
It's as if they suffer from some sort of syndrome of which President Trump takes advantage.
He's been doing it for a long time.....and they fall for it....every single time.
He might get in a lot of trouble. Maybe try other avenues to affect change first.I have a 16 year old son. I feel strongly that the law limiting voting to people 18 and over is discriminatory. Why? I mean...was the thread then just to bash a democrat for being against something you won't even say whether you are for or against it? Whats the point of that? Other than to...you know...get anonymous people on the internet to react to you?No it doesn't.
I've been posting about it here for years but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. Feels like more drastic action is needed. He might get in a lot of trouble. Maybe try other avenues to affect change first.
The point of the thread was to point out how silly democrats can be. The guy pardon's Susan B Anthony and the democrats still find something bad about it. It's just the usual Trump Derangement Syndrome that shows up every day. As I said in the OP, I find this silly and it makes me dislike the democratic party. Oh and by the way the woman who came out didn't so so because she was against Susan's actions. Why? I mean...was the thread then just to bash a democrat for being against something you won't even say whether you are for or against it? Whats the point of that? Other than to...you know...get anonymous people on the internet to react to you?
Right, you still haven't made the case for this. The point of the thread was to point out how silly democrats can be.
Yeah it's really weird that Trump's messaging isn't completely airtight and internally consistent.I've been posting about it here for years but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. Feels like more drastic action is needed.
Anyway, it seems like the message sent by Trump's pardon is "Susan B. Anthony wasn't legally allowed to vote, but we're going pardon her for committing this crime because it turns out she actually did the right thing by voting." Nobody else sees a huge conflict between this message and the other messages that Trump puts out there every day about illegal voting?
So...by silly...that one democrat in the link....disagreed with a pardon. And why is that silly? And why do you keep saying democrats as if it was some big movement by major democrats to be against this? The point of the thread was to point out how silly democrats can be. In your opinion.Right, you still haven't made the case for this.
Oh, yes, I do. I just want to argue for pardoning her as a stand alone decision. I think I'd be in favor of it if any president in my lifetime did the pardon.I've been posting about it here for years but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. Feels like more drastic action is needed.

Exactly, that's why it would be helpful if you tried to explain it.In your opinion.Right, you still haven't made the case for this.
I said democrats because---wait for it---she is a democrat!!! WOW!! What a concept. Do NOT go all Sho on me and pull the "Well every democrat in the entire world wasn't quoted here so it can't be true." Massively annoying when you do that.So...by silly...that one democrat in the link....disagreed with a pardon. And why is that silly? And why do you keep saying democrats as if it was some big movement by major democrats to be against this?
Also...the don't do the syndrome thing...its just flat out ridiculous...especially again someone claiming they wanted civil debate. This thread is proof positive you have absolutely no intention of doing such a thing.
Right. Well I did my best earlier. If you can't get my feelings from that, I'm sorry. I will strive to do better next time to satisfy you.Exactly, that's why it would be helpful if you tried to explain it.
Democrats is plural...making a big deal about “democrats” implies its more than one fringe person like this. But you knew that. So again the point of this was not about civil discussion...but to get people to react...that has shown over and over in your posts here. In other words...just flat out trolling.I said democrats because---wait for it---she is a democrat!!! WOW!! What a concept. Do NOT go all Sho on me and pull the "Well every democrat in the entire world wasn't quoted here so it can't be true." Massively annoying when you do that.
Most don’t seem to care...apparently its big news that a Lt governor didn't like it.Eye on the ball, guys. This pardon is stupid theater and no one should really care one way or the other when it's simply a distraction from this.
I don't know much about pardons. Is the usual scenario to pardon someone who didn't break the law or didn't know they were breaking the law? Or is it sometimes more about "they did their time and it's time to set them free"? Or something else? When you say "she shouldn't have been" what do you mean? The law clearly prohibited her from voting and she knew it. Why shouldn't she be held responsible?
I think these are all reasons that people have been pardoned before. In past administrations there's usually a lot of documentation that describes the reasons why someone is being pardoned.I don't know much about pardons. I'll bet Trump's main motivation is he thinks it might be viewed positively by suburban housewives and maybe even get him some votes. As for pardoning dead people, it's weird but not unprecedented or anything. I guess it's mostly to make a political statement. Which is why I'm so confused about what political statement Trump was trying to make here.
I hadn't even considered that angle until reading your post.fatguyinalittlecoat said:I've been posting about it here for years but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. Feels like more drastic action is needed.

You say that now but if Susan B. Anthony gets out and starts raping people, Trump might have a Willie Horton situation on his hands. This may be the best thing that Trump has accomplished. Congrats!
Mnuchin told Trump that a stronger dollar would be good for the economy.Juxtatarot said:I'll bet Trump's main motivation is he thinks it might be viewed positively by suburban housewives and maybe even get him some votes.
Dangit!! and I asked you to NOT do that, and you went full Sho anyway. When marijuana becomes legal, are we going to pardon all those that broke the law but were right all along?
My linkIllinois’ governor granted more than 11,000 pardons for low-level marijuana convictions on Tuesday, describing the step as a first wave of thousands of such expungements anticipated under the state’s new marijuana legalization law.
