Tab Perry... (1 Viewer)

He only caught 4 passes for 21 yards all last year but had 2 catches for 44 yards in week 1. What kind of numbers is he likely to have this year? Is he ever in around the goal line? He is also the Bengals primary kickoff returner (which we get pts for) so I'm wondering if he will catch enough passes to make him worth a pickup.

While Houshmandzadeh is out, he may get some more balls thrown his way, untill he returns. Probably only worth a pickup if your league gives points for return yardage. He is also their #1 kickoff returner, and had 48 return yds last week. Dante Hall, or Wes Welker are better options for WR/KR/PR duties.

Tab played as the 3rd WR in the game. He will go back to 4th WR duties when TJ returns. He still has value, because Cincy scores a lot of points, therefore he will get a lot of kick returns. Not sure how many balls he will catch with three studs like Chad, TJ, and C.Henry above him on the depth chart. I can't see Cincy having a lot of "third and longs" when they need 4 WRs in the game.

I'm pretty sure he lined up in the backfield last year in a couple of goal line situations and scored a TD. I think he will be a good player.. he doesn't do anything amazing... just good at pretty much everything. I don't know if he will ever get the numbers to make it into a fantasy lineup unless you are playing in a 32 teamer.

You're right, he did score 1 td last year. And since our league give pts for return yards he was actually the #24 wr last year (right behind Jimmy Smith). That's why I wondered if his role might be increased this year.

Don't forget Kelley Washington is in the mix too, so Tab Perry is more of a #4/5 WR. He may be able to earn more time though since he is much better than Washington after the catch. Unless Housh is out for an extended period of time, I'd say he'll end the season with around 15 catches for 200 yards, 1TD.

I'd say he'll definitely get more action this year. Worth a pickup in your league it seems.

If Henry gets suspended would Perry be the new #3 or would it be Washington or would they split? If he's in line to take over as #3 in Cin. it seems he might be worth stashing in deep leagues until we know for sure what will happen with Henry this year.

I believe they would be a WR 3 a & b. I'd say Kelly Washington would get more passing looks of the two though between he and Perry, while Perry would get the occasional pitch play or reverse. Obviously Perry has more value in return ydg. leagues.
