Takeo Spikes (1 Viewer)

I drafted him as well. I heard he should be playing this weekend. Will his position change hurt his FF stats?

Spikes move to SLB is predicated on the Bills wanting their 3 best LB'rs on the field at the same time. Since Crowell is really only suited to weak side that means Spikes has to play SLB. Yes his value takes a major hit but there's likely people in your league that aren't on top of this. Trade Spikes before the season starts when you can still get a taker based on name recognition.

the Bills are taking a cautious approach with Spikes and will bring him back slowly. Right now, Angelo Crowell is the most athletic linebacker on the team and it appears that he'll be playing WLB and in the team's nickel package as well.

If Spikes was 100%, I still think he takes over the nickel job but he might need a full season to recover from the Achilles. London Fletcher is headed for free agency after this season so it seems possible that Spikes could take over inside next year if they lose Fletcher and don't find a suitable replacement.

AR send this to Bloom and tell him to trade me Lofa for Spikes, NOW!

Any early word on Spikes' future? Is he worth holding onto? He finished strong for a SLB (24-11 in the last 5 games).

Assuming Fletcher walks in UFA, Crowell could become the MLB (...his natural position from college) and Spikes could be the pursuit guy at WLB.If so, upgrade Spikes' value for '07.

:mellow:ETA: there is absolutely no way Spikes does not improve on his 2006 numbers. He lost numerous games to injury and then was relegated to SLB.There are four scenarios:1. Fletcher somehow stays - Spikes stays SLB. 60-70 solo tackles and 30 assists would seem to be a decent place to start2) Fletcher leaves - Crowell moves inside, Spikes moves back to WLB - add 10-20 tackles (to above), more big plays, more pd3) Fletcher leaves - Spikes moves inside, Crowell moves back to WLB - add 15-30 tackles (to above), more big plays4) Somehow Spikes is replaced from the starting line up75% chance of a LB4 or better status in a 12 teamer, 50% of a LB2/3 status, 25% of LB1/2I like those odds
