This is local MMA here in Charlotte. I've been following this scene for 4 or 5 years, it's a lot of fun. Weird they call it "underground" - last weekends event drew several thousand fans and was held in one of the bigger local gyms (Grady Cole Center, for Charlotteans).
Anyways, not much more to add than to find out if your region has local MMA events, and to recommend checking them out. The quality of the fighters isn't quite UFC standard, but the fights can be just as, if not more, entertaining.
