Bucs' Aqib Talib charged with battery, resisting arrest

TAMPA - Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib posted a cash bail early this morning after he was jailed on charges of resisting arrest without violence and simple battery, both misdemeanors.

The Pinellas County jail booking sheet said Talib posted a total of $300 bail to be released from jail.

The report said the 23-year-old starting cornerback was arrested in Pinellas County by Florida Highway Patrol troopers. He was booked into the jail shortly before 1 a.m. and released just after 6 a.m., the report said.

Details of the arrest weren't immediately available.

Talib, who is slated to start at cornerback this season, was the Bucs' first-round draft pick in the 2008 college draft (20th overall) out of the University of Kansas. He played in 15 games during his rookie season and finished with four interceptions

Talib was a turd while at Kansas and the character concerns about him shown through during interviews at the combine last year.

Too bad, too sad for him, because he has a ton of talent.

Hopefully this is it for him trouble-wise and maybe he can turn it around before it swallows him up.

It doesn't sound like something that will lead to much of a suspension, if any.

The bigger issue here is that 2 Defensive backfield members have gotten in trouble in the last 2 days (Jackson suspended 4 games yesterday). Raheem Morris was their coach, prior to getting the head gig.

There was some concern locally over RM being too much of a players guy. This certainly won't help that image.
