Bucs' Aqib Talib charged with battery, resisting arrest
TAMPA - Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib posted a cash bail early this morning after he was jailed on charges of resisting arrest without violence and simple battery, both misdemeanors.
The Pinellas County jail booking sheet said Talib posted a total of $300 bail to be released from jail.
The report said the 23-year-old starting cornerback was arrested in Pinellas County by Florida Highway Patrol troopers. He was booked into the jail shortly before 1 a.m. and released just after 6 a.m., the report said.
Details of the arrest weren't immediately available.
Talib, who is slated to start at cornerback this season, was the Bucs' first-round draft pick in the 2008 college draft (20th overall) out of the University of Kansas. He played in 15 games during his rookie season and finished with four interceptions
