They just lost LB Quincy Black and DT Gerald McCoy and I don't think they were doing much previously in the defense department. Am thinking that CJ (even with Stanton) and (gulp) Best will be a sneaky play this week. Thoughts?

If anything, it's a boost for CJ to find holes in coverage. While McCoy has been coming on as a run stopper, it's the loss of Black that will slightly hurt pass coverage. CJ is a good play, even if only connecting on short routes.

Morris said linebackers Adam Hayward and Dekoda Watson will split time at the linebacker spot. He said Michael Bennett, who played well in the second half Sunday for McCoy, will compete for the starting job with newcomer Frank Okam.
The Bucs D has been pretty bad but I don't see them getting much worse becasue of these injuries. McCoy was coming along but Bennet did well. He probably won't get as much pressure on opposing QBs but he did fine stopping the run when he went in for McCoy. The linebackers suck and are the majority of the reaon we can't stop the run. Black missed time in the middle of the season and it wasn't a big deal. He isn't a pro-bowl LB or anything.

The loss of Talib is the major factor here. He would have no doubt been on CJ and at least created some doubt there about CJ's production. Depending on Detroit's QB production - big if there - there should be no reason CJ doesn't have good numbers.
