Could the Cowboys have waited to sign him until the bye week, and thus reduced his suspension (for them, because of the bye) to literally 7 games and a bye week? Was it too big of a worry to put it on a handshake or in pencil until after wk 8 when the Commish lifted his suspension?

Can he practice during the suspension? I'm probably wrong but I thought suspended players could only participate in preseason and then couldn't practice until the suspension was lifted.

Your not wrong. He can't practice with the team until after his suspension. Maybe knowing he will play the second half of the season will convince him to lay off the jerky and twinkies. I think its a good signing though.

He's a "body" with NFL experience and some ability. Chicago may want to consider the same approach at QB sometime.

But when can they do that.From what I read, because of the suspension, they had to interview and workout off-site rather than at cowboys HQ.With pacman's suspension here he is allowed only limited contact with the team brass to check in...and workout like once a month or once a week.How much can Tank actually meet with the cowboys to really give them any info?
