Tarvaris Jackson signs with Seattle. (1 Viewer)

Their trading the "Charlie Whitehurst Experiment" for this? Jeebus....poor Seattle fans. Maybe they are trying to compete with Washington for Andrew Luck.

Also have to think this means the Cards will get Kolb. the leverage the Eagles had on them has dwindled.

Does this mean they are out of the Kolb sweeps or no effect?

Not sure signing TJax makes them look any less desperate for a QB. They might as well have signed Joe Webb.

UMMMMMM Joe Webb can at least play some WR as well so I would say HUGE upgrade.

I thought teams couldn't sign FA's until Friday???? Seahawks fan here hoping this is a bad joke or at very least can get out of it on a loophole.

Players can agree to terms, get traded, ect during this time. They can't actually sign on the dotted line until Friday. Just a formality.

Kolb was never in the Seattle plans. That was all agents sending out media fodder.

What exactly is Seattle doing?
Trying their best to get Andrew Luck.
Seattle was a playoff team in 2010 (and even won a playoff game) while Hasselbeck (who will turn 36 this year) threw 12 TDs against 17 INTs.
They sure were a playoff team, and even won a playoff game, but they were not a very good team IMO, it's more a reflection of the disaster of the NFC West than it is on Seattle being a legitimate contender. And if TJax starts they will be worse...

This could be no different than a camp arm. It's similar to those late February or even end of season signings, like a futures contract.

They will surely bring in another QB but the Bevell affiliation makes sense to bring him in for a cup of coffee or as the 3rd qb.

Very highly doubt jackson was signed to compete with whitehurst at starter. I bet they still look to bring in another qb such as young, orton, kolb, etc. I hope.

They were not a very good team, but they were a long way from 2-14.

Why would they waste money signing another mediocre veteran (Jackson), when Whitehurst at least proved to be an adequate backup then?

Lets wait til thedetails of the contact to come out before we start saying this is it for seattle in the qb department. Whitehurst proved nothing last year as well. Not even that he could be an adequate backup.

He won the game that got them into the playoffs.

Please. His only decent drive was the scripted first drive of the game. His best play was a massively underthrown ball to a ridiculously wide open wr. Whitehurst played poorly that game. The defense played great and he just didn't lose it.

We'll see what T Jax can do with some coaching. His biggest problem on the Vikings (as was the whole teams) was also his biggest supporter. Childress was friggin HORRIBLE. How someone that dumb ever got a head coaching job I'll never know.

The move reunites Jackson with Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who held the same job with the Vikings during Jackson's entire stint in Minnesota. So he gets the same coordinator he had MN, I think it's more then a coaching issue

Just heard on the radio Tarvaris Jackson signs with Seattle.
As a hawks fan Im JACKED about this. Seriously....1) So sick of watching washed up Hasselsuck2) Suck for Luck campaign has begun
Yeah Hass was awful in that playoff win with a losing team, all that booing too, yeah lots of Hawks fans wanted him out.{??????}The guy's a pro.
He's a pro but clearly on the downside. In Seattle that decline might have been steeper than if he'd gone elsewhere.
