1What you are really asking if he will get the ball to Randy Moss. The answer is no.Let's say Elway is a 9 and Pennington is a 2Where would TJax's rank?

I agree with you. in 2008 when he got to play he had a QB rating of 95 - 9 TD and 2 INTsI think I'm the only person that thinks Jackson could be a decent QB if he's given a real opportunity.
i see you rounded up here. using the qb arm strength calculator i came up with 2.7362497.2.74
First, thanks for the link. But I don't see why you would say 3. He makes a 40 yard throw to Berrian with no effort--he could easily have thrown it further. I have seen him in other games launching it very deep and will look for video. But even in this video there are no examples of him lacking arm strength. But as you say, this video shows him being very accurate, more so than I remember. And the throw to Wade is a great 20 yard pass.Depends on how you are defining arm strength. If you're talking the ability to throw deep balls (ignoring accuracy) then I would probably grade him out around a 3.
If you're talking about throwing lasers with little touch regardless of whether it's a short or intermediate pass, I'd bump him to a 4 or 5.

BIO: Second-team All-Conference selection who totaled 60.9%/2,941/29/5 as a senior.POSITIVES: Athletic passer who took his game to another level last year. Displays improved field sense, has a strong arm and drives the ball into targets. Puts air under corner patterns and lets receivers run to the ball. Does not force passes into coverage and displays toughness running with the ball. Escapes the rush and loses nothing throwing on the move.NEGATIVES: Erratic with his accuracy and usually high off the mark or behind receivers. Shaky under pressure, rarely sets his feet and takes off out of the pocket too quickly.ANALYSIS: A developmental prospect who could be stashed on a practice squad, Jackson still needs a season or two to complete his game.
What constitutes real opportunity. I feel like I spent way too much time watching him try and be a QB while we were losing.I think I'm the only person that thinks Jackson could be a decent QB if he's given a real opportunity.
ThisHis arm strength is at least an 8. He is plenty strong. Accurate? More like a 3. And the speed of his decision-making needs work. Personally, he still has potential. He is better than Brady Quinn, I'll tell you that. And he has played better. And, yes, he is quite capable of throwing the deep ball and the Go routes to Moss. People in fantasy sometimes are blind to reality: they get caught up in group think and in looking at stats lines and they make judgements without even watching the player. Not saying Jackson is great; but he is better than a few QBs who are starting in the NFL and he has potential because he really hasn't started many games in his career.

We're talking about Tarvaris, not Jay CutlerHis arm strength is at least an 8. He is plenty strong. Accurate? More like a 3. And the speed of his decision-making needs work.
That has been the rap on T-Jax..big arm, small brain. His arm is plenty strong to be an NFL QB. His issue is the decision making ability. He doesn't anticipate well enough to use his arm strength down the field effectively.
You busted me Sig! I confess that I do hate Quinn. His arm strength is at least an 8. He is plenty strong. Accurate? More like a 3. And the speed of his decision-making needs work. There's a thread floating around here that claims he'll be a top 10 fantasy option if he started. There's a lot to question about him but arm strength isn't one of them. He's an easy 7, maybe an 8.I think I'm the only person that thinks Jackson could be a decent QB if he's given a real opportunity.
Gotta leave 10 out there in case someone comes along with a better arm than him so that it doesn't screw up the scoring system. Probabaly bump him down to an 8 just to be safe.Elway a 9?? Elway is a 10 if there ever was oneJackson has a pretty good arm though. From what I recall of his games against the Bears, he throws a nice deep ball.
I get the feeling some of them may not know which end of the scale is up.People posting two's and three obviously know nothing about him, he's got a strong arm. At least a 7 or 8. His accuracy has been off in the past and he has been slow on decision making but he's also a project QB out of a small school who sat almost no time before going into starting duties. I'm not sure he'll ever be a NFL qb but the book is certainly not closed yet.
Jackson's arm strength has never been his problem.....actually he has one of the strongest arms in the league. I think the following rankings will say it all:Arm Strength: 9Accuracy: 6Decision making: 1.5
Are you Childress?I think I'm the only person that thinks Jackson could be a decent QB if he's given a real opportunity.
If Elway is a 9, who could possibly be 10????Let's say Elway is a 9 and Pennington is a 2Where would TJax's rank?
Favre in his prime? He was always breaking fingers on his receivers. If Elway is a 9, who could possibly be 10????Let's say Elway is a 9 and Pennington is a 2Where would TJax's rank?

He wasn't a 10, but he was a 9 for arm strength and a 9 for accuracy.Too bad his attitude was a 1. Best player I ever played football with. And the worst attitude to go with it.Jeff George?buck naked said:If Elway is a 9, who could possibly be 10????Let's say Elway is a 9 and Pennington is a 2Where would TJax's rank?
