TE Clark Loses Weight, Plans to "Stretch Field"

Source: Gene Chamberlain, Post-Trib.com

Orginal Article: http://www.post-trib.com/cgi-bin/pto-story...z1_spor_09.html

Summary: Tight end Desmond Clark has made an effort to lose some weight in order to get downfield more often. So far Clark has lost 10 pounds and is drawing glowing comments from Head Coach Lovie Smith. Said Smith: "Take it from me, the lighter you are, you can move around a lot, that’s definitely the case with Dez. He’s in the best shape he’s been in." Added Clark:" Just trying to get a little leaner, so I can go a little faster and a little longer, if I can do that, then I can get downfield a little more."

Personal view: Normally everyone is in "the best shape of their career" this time of year, but when the head coach comes out and comments on it, maybe it's more believable?

I think it just means he was a relative fattie before and now he's trying to do what everyone else was already doing.

TE D. Clark Eyeing Big Year

Scout.com - [Full Article]

Chicago Bears TE Desomond Clark has slimmed down some and it looks like it's been for the better. "It's been tremendous seeing what he's done through OTAs and mini-camp," Bears tight ends coach Rob Boras said. "This is my third spring with him, and this is by far his best."

I've been big on Clark as a potential breakout TE for a few years now, but he has only continued to disappoint. Would be nice to see him turn things around.

I initially was thinking DALLAS Clark.. thinking w/o Edge to block to let Harrison and Wayne Get down field, Dallas was going to get a LOT of opportunity to get YPCs, when Manning dumps it off
