TE Dalton Kincaid, BUF (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking he's finally arrived
Sometimes young players just need time - especially if they are dealing with injuries (as they lose valuable practice and game reps).
He was my TE target in the draft this season, so I'm doing a little bit of a victory lap. I love the Allen/Kincaid stack so far.
I was always a fan but I tried to be realistic. BUF spreads the ball around and they still had a very good TE in Knox. Kincaid is still only playing like 50% of the snaps so we still need to be mindful he isn't out there all the time. When he is he is getting targets so that is good but they split the TEs, especially since Knox is a good blocker and does well catching too.

Anyways - there could be some more quiet games ahead and some bumps in the road. He could post a dud but that doesn't mean he isn't good.

I think he still has lots to work on and improve and he could be a longer term dynasty play.
I almost would rather him not being out there on more snaps blocking and wearing himself out. Let the other two studs do their thing.
I know what you are saying but his snap counts are quite low for a "starting TE". He's been playing well so hopefully he can get more reps and target. I'd rather him be on the field for 80+ of the snaps.

Was wearing a red non-contact jersey this week. Don't recall hearing about an injury.

Monday night game makes this problematic.

Suppose in a pinch could just drop Kincaid (bye next week anyways) and grab D. Knox would would see more snaps.

I have Kyle Pitts as well so can wait until the last minute to make a decision.

I think this happened in game… Kincaid was tackled after a reception and spun while going down hitting the ground back first. He hesitated getting up but played through it. I think he’ll be good to go Monday night.

He's still in a red non-contact jersey today, but on the field stretching.

For what that's worth.

He's officially listed as Q on the final injury report. I'm not worried about him playing, but have zero idea if the shoulder will limit or impact him is my concern.

Prior to practice McDermott said they'd get a look at him and Samuel to determine their status which makes me think it's a legit issue that could impact him.

I've always viewed TE matchups as overrated. Atlanta has faced Hock, Ertz, J Sanders and Otton in their first 4 games which is not a world beater group so can't say it means a whole lot that they are the stingiest D against TE's in fantasy which is part of why I think TE matchups are overrated. But it does a mean little when I view the COMBINED output of those 4 TE's as 5/44/0. I would note the Panthers had 4 TE's catch a pass against them for a combined 7/51/0 but that's the most positive thing I can say on the matchup.

He's been exceptional this year despite the limited routes but due to the matchup, injury issue impact and joy of having someone to watch on MNF I'm having a hard time leaving him in the lineup for options such as Taylor or Waller in my TEP leagues.

Njoku sitting in waivers. If I wanted to pivot prior to Monday he'd be the target.

Otherwise, I could grab a C. Loveland, C. Kmet, or D. Knox on Monday night.

Multiple paths to mediocrity.

I'm guessing this is regular PPR or not TEP.

I really play almost entirely in 1.5 PPR TEP and in that format I'd be starting Njoku even if Kincaid never spotted a no-contact jersey just because in a format I get 2 points for a 5 yard curl and fall (not saying that's what Njoju does) I prioritize playing time and targets over TD's.

I have one single redraft league that is not TEP. I've been mulling for 3 days to drop Juwan Johnson for Loveland because I think out of the Bears 3 skill position players a lot of us are hoping to see a post-bye breakout he's by far the most likely one. In fact I feel very confident about it but not sure if he's quite healthy enough for it to be this week.

I got a ton of WDIS calls involving TE's this week as either flex plays or as actual TE's. Tough to figure out but I'm especially uneasy with Kincaid this week even though I think he's playing. Here is to hoping we can figure out reasonably well.

Yeah, regular PPR.

Loveland is questionable as well. Think of Kincaid and Loveland I'd be more comfortable with Kincaid if both are active. At least Kincaid played last week.

Not loving Njoku this week. Steelers had a bye and Tomlin is ridiculous facing rookie QBs. Have a feeling it's going to be a rough day for CLE.

OUT

If you were smart like me and had no backup plan you thought this might happen with a bye week coming and pivoted to Mason Taylor and his one catch for 2 yards.

Winning

What's your take on Kincaid? Great per TPPR and efficiency numbers but only half the routes and snaps. I roster him in dynasty alongside Fannin and Gadsden, want to flip one of them for a WR. But I fear the second I trade Kincaid away the Bills pull a James Cook with him and suddenly give him all the routes and he becomes a monster (exactly that happened with Cook after I traded him for Chase Brown...)
