TE off the wire for the rest of the way (1 Viewer)

For those struggling at TE and panning for gold on the wire, who do you think could pay off big down the stretch?

Ladarius Green - injured and on a bye, might be out there. Could still be useful in that offense even if Gates is healthy. I'd scoop him up first if available.

Richard Rodgers - likely a hot waiver target after last week's game. Production will be erratic, but upside is big if you want to roll the dice. My second choice.

Garrett Celek - risky, feels like you might be left with a goose egg here and there, but if he pays off you'll look like a genius.

Any others?

Never a lot of yards but a big redzone target on one of the better offenses sounds playable.

2nd year TEs tend to show improvement going forward...

Zach Ertz. Getting targets and the TD' should come. He was dropped in my league after a bad start. He could still be out there in leagues.

Ertz if he's out there. The needle is pointing up.

Rodgers has a nice floor of potential. Gets lots of targets each week. Have to hope he converts them is all.

I'll add Crockett Gilmore.. He was dropped in a lot of leagues after injury and bye. He should get a healthy dose of targets with Smiff out.

What are thoughts on Scott Chandler (gasp..... if Gronk goes down?) As a Gronk owner I'm thinking of picking him up and stashing him. If I recall years past in BUF, he does have some skills...

I don't think his role changes much tbh.. He's a completely TD dependent player. I'd rather have a guy with more upside that doesn't have the best TE in football ahead of him waiting on an injury.

Ebron available but he can't score touchdowns.

Vernon Davis? Owen Daniels?

I like Ertz as a safe guy, but can't seem to find much upside with him.

I like the Rudolph play. He's touchdown or bust though.

I am going after Fleeny. Hasselback was feeding him the ball in his lone start.

Anything is better than the 4.8 pts (PPR) I've been averaging at the TE slot. I looked the other day and it would be the equivalent of starting Anthony Fasano all season.

Ebron, Ertz, Daniels, Rudolph, Davis in that order right meow.

Tamme has come on of late, esp. with Hankerson hurting. ASJ on tampa may get healthy one of these weeks, too with mucho upside

Just dropped gillmore for Julius Thomas.

Now my stable is clay/Thomas/ebron and v.Davis.....need someone from that group to emerge

I had been holding on to Cameron for Gates' bye week, but when the time came I realized I had no faith in him and dropped him for Gilmore.

Gates on bye gotta decide between these practically evenly ranked TE's: Ebron, Gilmore, or Rodgers. Stats tell me Ebron. I think The Pack rolls in this game and they finish off the Lions in the 4th quarter by rushing the ball with Starks and Lacy. Perhaps some garbage time for Ebron?

Have Thomas going this week with Gates on a bye, but not happy about it. Would feel better if Hurns ends up not playing. Someone dropped Rudolph, so do I go with him instead of Thomas? I know Rudolph has the right matchup, but he doesn't have more than 2 catches in his last 6 games. Hard to trust him unless he gets a TD.

Ebron probably gets more yards, Gilmore probably gets more targets and better chances for a TD. I'm not sold on Rodgers as being anything more than a shot in the dark.

Good analysis. Baltimore has fewer mouths to feed and like to use their TE more.

I have Gates as well (had Reed, but dropped him and waited one week too long to pick him back up). I have Gilmore, Rodgers, ASJ (not likely) and Ertz. Also, Rudolph, but the Oakland thing only works with targets. He has 6 targets in the last three games, which IIRC were actually close games, not blowout wins. I think I like Ertz the best due to the targets/consistency lately. If he gets a TD it's gravy, but he's likely to be around 8-11 in PPR, which is enough for a bye.

I'm going with Ebron with the Gates bye. Just think the Lions will be playing from behind, and Calvin not 100% so Stafford will have to throw to somebody, probably the other team - lol. Toss up with these guys.

I grabbed the Celek kid from SF. Didn't cost me anything. We'll see.

As for Ertz, the needle has been pointing up for years now. Might in fact be a faulty gauge?
