TE Oronde Gadsden II, LAC (3 Viewers)

Anyway as someone who is desperate for wins and already has Warren, I might go all in on him this week. Need a flex desperately.
Have Ferguson but need week 10 replacement. Hope I get lucky as I'm #14 out of 14 waiver claim. Conditionally dropping Aiyuk. Gadsden may be used in flex as choice is between Judy or Spears as 5 of my starters are on bye.

Thanks for the thumbs up and not saying, “yeah, you jack you-know-what”

Heh. I drafted this guy with the last pick of our rookie draft in early May, and I’m pretty happy with the results. I had no picks in the draft and I was to be apathetic about it, but I got an offer and immediately dropped what I had going on, woke my butt up, and lucked into acquiring the 6.03 and 6.12 because the guys that I still wanted—Oronde and Bill (Jacory Croskey-Merritt)—were still on the board. It will never work out like that again; nor will I draft guys that work out in the pros like these guys have so far, but it’s nice to be prepared and whole metric ton of lucky.

eta* And I sure am repeating this story a bunch. I think I ought check where it is and just be a little quieter.
How was Bill available in the 6th round? I thought he went in most 2nd/3rd rounds for like everyone?

Steven Haglund
All 7 receptions from Oronde Gadsden’s record breaking day via All-22. The Chargers threw him passes as an inline TE, from the slot, out wide as a pseudo X receiver, and as the isolated 1 in a 3x1 formation on his touchdown.

Jacob Gibbs
In addition to being a unique mover who can win 1v1, Oronde Gadsden II showed a good feel for zone coverage in college and has done the same so far as a pro.

- NFL lineage
- WR background
- Early CFB breakout
- Super productive player

Jacob Gibbs
Oronde Gadsden II looks like a massive hit as a unique mover and matchup problem

May 4th dynasty draft.

Nobody knew who he was then unless you’re an RB junkie or on the FBG Forums. They’re saying that the first national fantasy mention of him was by Theo Gremminger of Fantasy Points in May.

That’s untrue. The first national mention of Bill was at least as far back as March 20th, 2025, by me.

Plenty of time for the April NFL Draft and all your dynasty drafts to follow. Keep it tuned in here, kid. We are actually where you might hear something like this.

Stay plugged in with your mind open and your capacity for awe half-full, and you might just learn something to help you out along the way.

Got him on waivers, nobody else put a claim in. Feels like if any of the three WRs get injured, Gadsden has top 5 ROS potential, but with the amount of mouths to feed and my history of getting swept up in TE hype off of two good games (Mason Taylor says hello), I'm going to stick with Fannin until there's some separation.

Big body catches with his hands. Runs a bit stiff, but with decent speed for his size and secures the ball very well. Could easily be a top RZ target for this team ROS, and if he gets a sprinkling of targets beyond that, he could be a top-ten TE. Low floor though, which could fall out at anytime under his rookie feet. Risk/reward play for sure.

Playing them both (one in the flex) this week in a horrendous bye week with Bowers also sitting on my bench. Gonna hold on to whichever outperforms this week I can't afford to keep all 3 of them.

Someone in my main redraft league spent $51 FAAB out of the $100 we have to get this guy. He’s also the Bowers owner. There are major believers out there!

That might be me. Is this league 20+ years old and started in AA? Sometimes when you are front running it’s helpful to keep assets away from other owners. And the next highest bid was over $40.

He made a couple of plays in that Colts game that only a few TEs in the NFL could make. Indeed, he looks like a young Waller to me. I’m not sure we’ll get a full on breakout this season, as the Chargers are pretty stacked with receiving options. But, given the bloodbath at TE, I wouldn’t fault anyone who put a decent sized wager on him.

Afraid not. But congrats for keeping a league together for so long!

This league is only four years old. The second highest bid was $15 (me). I was so close; almost had ‘em!

Ha!

The thing about Gadsden that I appreciated is that Harbaugh loves TEs. By comparison, I love Terence Fergeson’s talent but I am not convinced McVey will use his TEs enough.

What start/sit decisions have people made? I've got him benched for Fannin but debating throwing him in over Goedert with the injury concerns. I could see flip flopping those over the next few hours though.

I picked him up after week 6 , he showed me enough that game , then went ballistic week 7 . I saved my league mates the trouble of figuring how much Fab he was worth

Has anyone pointed out that it took 61 passes by Herbert to get to this point? Feels like an outlier week.

Bug Fan of the athlete, arrow pointing up, looks great in dynasty, all that. But I dunno if this apple ready to be picked for starting lineups yet.

Guy Starting Fannin Since Week 2

I can pick him up but would need to drop Pitts in short bench 1TE league. Trying to figure ROS on this guys vs. just sticking with Pitts who has his bye week done with.

Might be your last chance to get this guy cheap.

My thoughts is coaching staff is well aware of Gadsdens talent and aren't going to just stop calling plays for him.
And ya have to think Herbert loves throwing to a big reliable target and will feed the

I wouldn't count on Keenan staying healthy all year.

I'm wondering if Gadsden took Johnston's share of targets away.
Maybe coaches think Gadsden is the better tall big target down field. He has better hands than Johnston.

IMO If Gadsden out targets Johnston tonight,it will give me that good feeling that roles in that offense have changed.

Johnston won't just go away in that offense. He was very good first few weeks of season.
I'm just hoping Johnstons 2 catch week last week on what 3-4 target is the new norm for him lol
I know he was coming back from injury, but ya never know what changes in offenses as season goes on.

Coaches make changes in offense sceems all the time, Herbert seems to trust and like throwing to his new toy Gadsden.

Tonight will be a big game to see if the breakout continues . If he had good game. He here to stay as huge part of Chargers offense ros.

The week before that Herbert threw 38 times. Still a lot, but Gadsden put up 7-68.

It's possible that 7-68 is something around the ceiling for Fannin with Gabriel at QB.

I don't really disagree with you. Gadsden is probably best left on the bench this week. The floor is still pretty low just because we haven't seen it much.

But he flashed a ceiling very few TE's have. It's a dice roll, but not a bad one given the low opportunity cost of what most TE's are likely to provide.*

*Yes, I know that statement is set up to age very poorly on National TE's Day.

I need a bigger sample before I believe. I'm having 2024 Isaiah Likely week 1 nightmares.

I’m in an IDP PPR 51-man roster with 5 defensive positions (start 9) to be filled and 4 offensive ones (start 9) with a TE Prem of 1.5 per catch. We start 1QB 1RB 1TE 2WR 3WR/RB/TE Flex and 1RB/TE Flex

I have to start this guy. I have 2 FAAB dollars left for 2 more transactions on the year and it is bye hell.

Oronde Gadsden II has now been in there 2 straight weeks and will continue to be until he’s on the bench or he doesn’t earn targets on Herbert’s dropbacks. Until then, we ride out of necessity.

You have to start him during these big bye weeks unless your team is insanely deep

I have both. QJ was coming back from a hamstring injury last week. I would expect him to be closer to 100% this week. Either way I have been keeping a close eye on Gadsden for the past 5 or 6 weeks. I can't imagine that he won't be a consistent part of the offense now. He has shown too much, and is to great of a mismatch for opposing defenses for the Chargers to keep him out of the gameplan going forward.

Also, Keenan Allen is always a hop, skip, and an injury away from being out for the season especially at this age.

4 starters on bye what's left is Q or not worthy in flex. I must start him tonight and I realize he may be starting next 2 weeks after! Keep the motor rolling.
