TE Production Going Forward (1 Viewer)

I didn't get a chance to see any of these four TE's play this past week. Looking at FBG targets, L.J. Smith, Fasano, and Rosario all saw some of the most targets out of all TE's (10, 9, and 8 respectively). Owen Daniels on the other hand only saw 4 targets. This worries me because I assumed Houston went the the pass a lot more in the second half while playing catch up and Daniels still only had 4 targets (3 catches) all game? Going into the season I thought Daniels was going to put up some solid TE numbers, and while he still might, it seems that the other three TE's are going to have a whole lot more opportunity to make plays with the ball. At the same time it was only one week and I don't want to be making drastic decisions after one outing.

For those who saw any of these games last Sunday, could you tell me how these guys looked? Who do you think will put up the best numbers by season's end? From what I have read on this board, Fasano will be an important part of this offense, although it worries me he is playing for Miami and fragile Pennington is tossing him the ball. As far as Rosario, it seems that nobody would even be talking about him if he hadn't caught the game winning touchdown at the end of the game. L.J. Smith had a great game but I worry that his targets/numbers might dip when Reggie Brown comes back and I'm not too confident Philly can put up those offensive numbers consistantly. What are your guys' thoughts on these guys?

I've read a lot of Fasono hype. I picked him up today and dropped Kevin Boss. Hope it works out for me (and others who picked him up). For those of you that did, what are your expectations? Or for those who have Boss, do you think I ####ed up.

i dropped daniels for fasano.

i don't see daniels blowing up against the ravens or the steelers and expect him to be on the waiver wire if i decide to reacquire him.

I wouldn't be so sure Daniels will stay on the wire afteronly 1 subpar game. The Texans expect him to be a huge part of the offensenow and into the future.

Rosario is a freak out there. I liked him the best but hes gonna have alot of competition for catches next week and now I heard he missed practice with a sprained foot. Sucks I bid $25 on him and Fasano was scooped for $2 lol

I watched most of the Philly game, and IIRC, LJ Smith was targeted three times in the end zone (may have been twice). McNabb likes him, and I believe he was a favorite target of his in the red zone in seasons past. While he had the worst week statistically out of the Fasano/Rosario/Smith trio, he certainly has the most proven track record of success of the three.

I would rank them as follows:

1) Smith (Healthy this year, McNabb likes him, past history of success in the system. Will DeSean Jackson and the eventual return of Kevin Curtis cut into his targets?)

2) Fasano (Questionable WRs, QB with weak but accurate arm suited for the short passing game. Will the offense provide enough red zone/end zone looks?)

3) Rosario (Big first game, he may have earned Delhomme's trust and get more looks. How does Steve Smith coming back affect his targets? Will the offense be run-heavy, pass-heavy, or a more balanced attack?)

I tend to be risk-adverse, so generally favor players who have a track record of good production over an unknown who may have a bigger upside but no real track record. If you are more of an upside guy, I can see the ranking being reversed - Rosario/Fasano/Smith. YMMV.
