The Peppers owner in my league says that Peppers had a sack and an FF that was not credited to him on Sunday. I didn't see the game, but I looked at NFL GameBook and found the following:

So the Panthers got a TEAM sack and FF? Has anyone else seen this before? Will this be corrected?

Happens more frequently in some stadiums than others -- usually in Minnesota but I've seen it in other gamebooks too. If it's not been corrected yet, it likely won't be on the NFL.com site. It's possible the player page is corrected but the gamebook won't be.

Initally on NFL.com and MFL's live scoring software, it was scored as a sack and forced fumble for Peppers. About 15 minutes later, they changed it to a TEAM sack. I have Peppers and while I don't need the points to win, I did see the play and have been waiting for the updated stat to be posted. Nothing yet.

I like the team sack stat. It was a mutual crushing of the Qb.

Jene the Vikings deserve the "team" sack when it is credited as I have seen several times where the defenders do arrive in unision as in more than 2 players hitting the Qb at the same time.

That being said I agree the FF should be credited to whoever knocked the ball out. Although that might be hard to see with so many defenders piling on.

I agree with the sack issue. It's the team tackle or player not on the field that gets credited with tackles in Minnesota that I have trouble accepting.

No idea really. It's not corrected often in my experience and I think it's rare for MFL to make a correction after Tuesday morning unless the NFL officially announces a stat change.It may be worth emailing them. Their customer service is very quick and will be more aware of how often such situations come up and how they get handled.

Peppers was rushing Eli. Just before he stuck his arm out to bat the ball away Eli fumbled bringing it back to throw. He missed the ball by maybe a foot. The play was initially ruled a sack and FF for Peppers, but was changed to a team sack and FF during the game. Since Peppers didn't physically dislodge the ball its a team sack and FF. I don't think that they will change it back, but i've seen plays like this be called a sack and FF. He was clearly the defender closest to Manning.
