I think the prediction for Josh Freeman might be off also unless you're attempting to predict an injury and he miss a game or two.

He started 9 games and was able to average over 200 passing yards a game stepping in with very few first team reps as he was somewhat thrust into the starter position..

I agree with the 15 TD/16 INT stat, but I would figure he'd flirt with 3k passing yards and perhaps beyond depending on how quickly his two rookie wideouts can adjust to the pro game.

I can't imagine Stroughter being worse than last year, unless you're thinking he won't be ready for the start of the season for some reason. I don't think he'll go crazy and his ceiling isn't high, but I could still see him doubling those numbers.

I think a lot of these predictions are usually way too optimistic, so it's nice to see something a little more down-to-earth. That being said, I was impressed with Freeman last year. If he takes steps in the right direction, 3,000 yards and 22 TDs seems realistic. Of course, he might throw 22 INTs as well. But he seemed unusually poised at times last year (and like a rookie at others).

Assuming Clayton is on the roster, I'd probably switch his numbers with Stroughter. But seems realistic otherwise to me. Good job.

Clayton will not be on the roster, and Stroughter will be starting in the slot so he should get plenty of balls.

Heep an eye out for Kareem Huggins.

Oh, and I agree with everyone else about Clayton being too high and probably not being on the team at all.

Also, some people are saying Mike Williams is more NFL ready than Benn.

I love getting the passing game in dynasty leagues. Get them cheap now and if there is plenty of upside with Freeman and the 2 rookies. Freeman at QB20+ is a steal and that seems to be the going rate.

May not work this year, but long term these guys have unlimited upside.

I agree with this. Freeman is a great player to target in startup dynasties. He showed some playmaking abiltiy last season, has a big body/strong arm, and with potentially very nice targets for several years in Winslow, Williams, Benn, and Stroughter he could put up some really good numbers. The future is starting to look bright in Tampa Bay. :lmao:

I know there's a lot of optimism over Freeman and the young players they have in the passing game, but am I the only one who's optimistic about the running game this season? Going into last year, they had what was regarded as a young, talented offensive line. Last season, this unit was pretty poor, but I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that a line built for power blocking was told to lose weight and shift to a zone blocking scheme. Then the OC got fired right before the season started and then things really got downhill. Between all that, the inexperienced quarterbacks, and Antonio Bryant's injuries, it just didn't seem like the players were ever given a chance. If the contract disputes get worked out with their starting tackles, I really think Cadillac and Ward could surprise in the running game next season. Any thoughts?

Now that pre-season is almost over I think I fell a little better going into the season. The primary weakness on this team last season was the run D and they have gotten much better already. McCoy & Price were reaking havoc in the middle the other day and that is exactly what we needed.

Rumor has it Tanard failed a drug test so he may be out for 6-8 games. I actually heard this back in March from a friend who knows someone on the team then saw a tweet about it the other day from JoeBucsfan. It's still a rumor now but I have a bad feeling we may be missing one of or best defensive players.

Rudd will have many more big plays if we keep getting pressure on the QB.

Sabby isn't starting but he should still see the field plenty especially if Tanard misses time.

The O finally has something to be excited about with stars like Mike Williams emerging. Hopefully, Freeman can develop into a decent QB this season. Josh Johnson hasn't looked bad in pre-season either.

The WR situation is pretty interesting. I expect Clayton to be cut and possibly Reggie Brown. I don't think the Bucs can part ways with Spurlock due to his contribution on ST. Clifton Smith will most likely get cut especially after his fumble the other night.

Keep Spurlock on the radar.

Any thoughts from a homer on Mike Williams? He looks impressive in the limited highlihgts I've seen. Thanks!

This was really a spot-on post for May 11, 2010.

2 huge blemishes already for GM Mark Dominick. He missed out on Haynesworth so he made up for it by signing D. Ward & Clayton.

Oh, and Aquib Talib is going to miss the first game. Luckily it's against Cleveland...

Benn has caught 2 TDs tonight. Huggins looking good. Spurlock looking good. Preston Parker made a nice catch. I think they will try and stash him on the practice squad. I think Reggie Brown has made his case to make the team tonight but I wouldn't mind seeing them give young guys like Parker & Spurlock opportunities.

Not sure if they will keep Clifton Smith or not now that Ward is out of the picture. I thought for sure he was gone but now we may need him if we get thin at RB. He can return kicks but so can Spurlock & Parker.

:lmao: Clayton

How did Benn look tonight? I've been waiting for months for this guy to make some noise so I'll take what I can get.

Both TDs he physically beat out the defender for the ball. Looks like a good red zone target.

I'm not quite sure but if I heard it back then the team has probably been expecting it for a while and must have a plan.

I couldn't believe the

Mike Williams: 7 receptions for 97 yards and 1 touchdowns; 0 rushes for 0 yards and 0 touchdowns.
when I saw it the first time and it only gets sillier as the season goes on. It's not like he was an unknown going into training camp - he was pretty highly touted by the coaching staff and the team from Day 1.
