great find... thanx!looks like only broncs in the modern era is correct answer... & even that qualified by the fact that only 10 teams advanced at that time instead of the current 12, so in that sense, pats are historically unlucky...

If they were in for MIA as division champs, they would be at home vs. Balt. I don't see NE as an underdog in that matchup.If they were in for BAL as the 6th seed, it would be playing at MIA. Again, NE wouldn't appear to be an underdog to me, but I'm not Vegas.Personally, I'm glad to see them out of the race. A Bradyless NE team that has been told they can't do it all season then making the playoffs at 11-5. I wouldn't bet against the Pats in any matchup.
