2024 Avengers Rules
League website
I have been running personal guillotine leagues for several years now and have updated the basic rules into a fun-filled league that intensifies each week! I call them Super-guillotine leagues and have liberally borrowed from the original creator himself, Paul Charchian. One of his inspirations is the optional insurance against a week 1 departure - new for me this year.
Of course a guillotine leagues eliminate the lowest scoring team each week and those players are made available to the surviving teams. However, instead of the "normal" priority waiver requests or blind bidding waivers, owners actively bid on players when they become available. It's a non-stop feeding frenzy! If a team drops a player to recover salary, that player is available immediately.
There are different strategies for these leagues and any one of them could work, but will it work?
Starting lineups increase throughout the season - weeks 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18. This makes those new players even more valuable as the season progresses. The final two teams could start as many as 5 QBs.
***Payouts are dependent on league entry fee amount and the number of players. Prizes assume full leagues. Smaller league size will result in prize amounts being adjusted accordingly. Hosting fees are consistent.
