Agreed - thought I was the only Jets fan that likes the deal, if only to put some much needed pressure on Sanchez and add some creativity to the offensive game plan that doesn't have a ton of weapons.I don't know, count me as a Jets fan who likes the deal. Hopefully he'll light a fire under Sanchez. Brad Smith won some games out of the Wildcat a few years ago and that was really missed last year. Sporano has his piece now so let's see what happens. Are the Jets still a circus? Absolutely. I really don't see the difference between a big circus and a HUGE circus. Hard to really judge until the games are played, hoping for the best. Welcome to the fold Tebow.
Hawk move - Swoop! He's going to be really good in NY. There, I said it.
This is the best move Jeff Ireland has ever made. It's absolutely moronic that neither the Dolphins or Jaguars acquired Tebow at that price.
That sucks. He could have replaced Gabbert by week 4. Now he has to sit and The Tebow thread will languish. The Jets are good enough to avoid the 3 game losing streak needed for The Tebow to take over.Elway must really hate The Tebow to send him to NY when he wanted to go to JAX. Or was it genius? Tebow in JAX is irrelevant. The Tebow Circus in NY could ruin the Jets playoff chances. For a 4th rounder according to Glazer
enough with the schtickCheap way to motivate Sanchez.I'm sure I'm probably in the minority but I like this move by the Jets. They've got Sparano as their new OC. They're going to run the wildcat. So why not go out and get an elite wildcat qb in Tebow? Remember when Sparano was with the Fish they wasted a 2nd rounder on Pat White for the same role. Here the Jets gave up a 4th rounder which is no big deal since they would of probably wasted the pick on another rb had they kept the pick anyways. The swap of 6th's and 7th's is inconsequential.
And why are people worrying about Sanchez? He's a big boy. It's his fourth year in the league. If he can't deal with the pressure of "Tebowmania," then he was never going to be a pro bowl qb in NYC anyways, imo.
The mess the Jets are, I think Tebow's chances of succeeding drop. Tebow may become the starter, but I see the team imploding as a result. How exactly is he being hurt here? He has gone from a clear back-up, to a likely starter in the media capital of the world. He'll make more money in NY, and have a wider audience to deliver what ever message he wants.Sad thing is he's getting traded for issues caused by fans, not anything that Tebow has done. His fanbase is actually hurting him.
This. And by midseason I expect they'll be using the wildcat "often".I'm sure I'm probably in the minority but I like this move by the Jets. They've got Sparano as their new OC. Running GAME, yes. Running BACKS, no.McGahee -4 starts prior to Tebow - averaged 95.3 rushing, 1.5 receptions for a few yards, .5 TD per game10 start with Tebow - averaged 81.5 rushing, .1 reception for 2 yards, .3 TD per gameRunning GAME improved, running BACK didn't.Actually, running quarterbacks do help the running game. You can continue with your Tebow and I won't disagree with much...but yes, Tebow did help Denver's running game.
Almost single handedly? In five of Tebow's seven wins the defense surrendered 15 points or less.'BusterTBronco said:Great deal? The Broncos drafted him in the first round. Tebow almost single handedly turns around a horrible season and gives the team their first appearance (and playoff win) in many years. He's the most popular athlete on the planet. And all they get is a stinking 4th and 6th rounder? Now on NFL NetworkDenver gets 4th and 6thJets get Tebow and 7thGreat deal for Broncos IMO. Much more than I thought they would get.
is this a serious post?? Who would take him with that contract??I'd be shocked if the Jets didn't trade Sanchez by the start of the season.
They don't want to turn 2-3 + years rebuilding into a decade. It's absolutely moronic that neither the Dolphins or Jaguars acquired Tebow at that price.
at shader thinking that Tebow was an accurate passer in college.Maybe they can be roomies on the road to keep Sanchez in line, like they did with Mantle & Maris. The Jets are savvy. They acquired the one backup who makes Sanchez look accurate and efficient by comparison.![]()
Pretty sure they are on a decade rebuilding plan regardless of Tebow. They don't want to turn 2-3 + years rebuilding into a decade. It's absolutely moronic that neither the Dolphins or Jaguars acquired Tebow at that price.
Do you think that's how he'll be used in NY? I don't know how to read the move?! Was this to light a fire under Sanchez, or was this to create a new wrinkle in the offense from day 1?If it's the later, I have to think this hurts both Sanchez and Greene, no?Also by adding Tebow, the Jets just became one of, if not the most difficult, offenses in the league to gameplan for. DC's are going to have to basically gameplan for 2 different offenses when they play the Jets now. And their short yardage and goalline offense just got a lot better.
McGahee averaged 3.75 ypc the first four games with Orton and 5.2 ypc the rest of the way with Tebow, though. He was also banged up and hurt quite a bit the whole second half of the season, starting with the first KC game - I think that was probably the main reason his ypg declined.Running GAME, yes. The Pats already showed how to gameplan for Tebow, and it's not like the Sanchez-led Jets were befuddling defensive coordinators around the league. Also by adding Tebow, the Jets just became one of, if not the most difficult, offenses in the league to gameplan for. And the Jets offense will have to split their practices into two offenses negatively affecting each of them. Also by adding Tebow, the Jets just became one of, if not the most difficult, offenses in the league to gameplan for. All because you want to have a wildcat guy? It's not like you needed to sell tickets. Not sure any of us are in leagues that award points for YPC, though I may be wrong. YPC went up sure, but carries dropped pretty well, as well as TDs.Anyway, how does this addition really affect Greene? Will it be similar (less carries, less TDs)?McGahee averaged 3.75 ypc the first four games with Orton and 5.2 ypc the rest of the way with Tebow, though. And that's what happens when you only look at the numbers and didn't watch a guy throw.Do you have any idea regarding the types of throws Manning made in college versus the ones Tebow made? I like Tebow. I think the bashing of him is unfair. But he has never been a very accurate passer.
This just isn't true. When he had Murphy and Harvin he threw bombs pretty regularly.Do you have any idea regarding the types of throws Manning made in college versus the ones Tebow made? Tebow rarely threw the ball more than 5 yards down the field.

Tebow made a stud out of Demaryius Thomas.I'd pay $5 to watch a live unedited video feed of Santonio Holmes hearing this news.
He got banged up and they had fewer rushing attempts. It's not Tebow's fault McGahee got hurt. When he was healthy he was getting more yards. I simply pointed out a rushing qb helps the ground game. It does. But the rb needs to stay healthy to truly benefit. If Greene stays healthy and if Greene keeps his job then I expect him to increase his ypc as well. Not sure any of us are in leagues that award points for YPC, though I may be wrong. me tooJets are getting killed on the radio, but you have an O coordinator who was successful running a wildcat formation with Ronnie Brown. You essentially have one of the best wildcat QB's to play.If Tebow starts, then I think the Jets are in a world of trouble. If he comes on for 4-8 plays a game, i think it could benefit.I don't know, count me as a Jets fan who likes the deal. Hopefully he'll light a fire under Sanchez. Ok, you win. All the numbers that point to Tebow being an accurate passer in college and not just throwing dumpoffs are all a big mirage. He is one of the most inaccurate passers of all time. His college WRs should be credited with all of his success because without him, his 3 yd dumpoffs would have never gone for over 3000 yds.Naw, anything good that happens involving The Tebow is all due to him and him alone. The others are just lucky to be a part of it. Kickers kicking game tying & GW 55+ yard FGs can't happen without The Tebow. Marion Barber being stupid can't happen without The Tebow. Onside K recoveries can't happen without The Tebow. Don't you know that?I wonder if Thomas might have had something to do with that as well.Tebow made a stud out of Demaryius Thomas.I'd pay $5 to watch a live unedited video feed of Santonio Holmes hearing this news.
