Tenessee WR's (1 Viewer)

I didnt watch the whole game, but you know what?

the portion I did watch, the Tennessee WR's didnt look too bad.

considering the quality defense this was against I'm wondering if we should be picking the Starters (available on my WW) for our team?

Britt looked reasonably decent, but the one big reception was a case where someone blew an assignment and he was wide open. (it wasnt any separation move that got him that one) but he looked good after the catch to gain extra yards.

Gage looked good too.

of course I saw half of the first half (mostly 2nd quarter) and the tail end of the game.

I'd like some opinions from others who watched the game. Let me know if you felt the same.

Gage: Yes

Britt: Not yet

Washington: Don't know based on nagging injury

I think the real guyg to get is Collins if you have a sucky backup. He looked good and his protection was better than I expected.

I don't think every game will go like the Steeler's game. Neither team could run so they had to pass, which inflated the passing stats.

The number of times Gage was targeted is what impressed me. I think based on his ADP he's the one to get.

Gage owner here - although he sat on my bench last night.

I would target Gage, but wait and see on the others. A couple of things about last night:

1. Fisher knows that they had a better chance to stay in the game if they threw more. They weren't going to run on the nasty Steeler D, but you can pass a bit better.

2. Tennessee will still be a running team and their D will keep them in games.

3. It looks like Collins was targeting the TE's until Scaife went out with the injury

4. Britt does look a bit scared out there - maybe the jitters will be gone

5. Who knows what N. Washington will do once he is healthy

Gage also had a 22-yard reception called back because of a penalty, so he is getting the looks early in the season!

I'm grabbing Cook. All those targets to Scaife and Crumpler to him, he might even get more targets in the flat than Johnson.

Remember though....Tennessee wants to run the ball first....thats just not an option agains Pitts....Gage is the best of the lot and will have some nice games.....he will have some non-existent games too....if he is on the WW, definately grab him and keep him as an injury / bye week fillin if you have the roomJust my two cents...

2008- CJ and Lendale combined for 451 rushing attempts and 48 receptions, Ten had 453 total pass attempts. a 52.4/47.6 split (yeah I know I'm double counting here, this is just to demonstrate a point)

last night 23 rush attempts and 1 reception for the RBs and 35 pass attempts.

Last night doesn't fit with what Tenn has done the past 3 seasons. Expect them to move back into the 25-30 attempts per night range and the 25-30 rushes per game range- with more RB targets.

was thinking along these lines as well...Cook is dinged, but I think he will be back soon...think he led the preseason in receptions....not sure how long/if Scaife will be out...

both players are on the WW in my league. It's just a question of who I drop.My WR's are Steve Smith, Ocho Cinco, Ted Ginn Jr., and Mike Furrey. It's tempting to see what Furrey can do in that offense with a guy like Braylen Edwards to stretch the field, but Gage may be the better guy.

I think Gage is an upgrade over Furrey in most scoring systems..... ....
