Tennessee RBs in 2007 (1 Viewer)

I would like to survey your opinions on how the Tennessee RB situation will look in 2007.

Henry - proven the most this year, but is the oldest.

Brown - Over 1000 all purpose yards two straight years, untill 2006

White - The still unproven prospect.

Do one, two or all three split the carries in TN next year? Thoughts?

Brown will be gone. I think that Henry will continue to be the starter with White seeing an increased workload. I expect they'll target a late round runner who can also contribute on special teams or sign a super cheap free agent who won't complain about playing time (a la Chris Brown).

Rotoworld is reporting that the Titans have begun discussions with Henry.

The Titans have begun preliminary discussions with Travis Henry on a long-term contract extension. Henry is under control through 2009 but due an $8.3 million roster bonus in March of 2007. He will undoubtedly need to restructure. It's looking more and more like Henry will start for the Titans next season.

Thanks for the toughts. Is Brown a starter somewhere else next year? Or just another backup?
He'll probably go to somewhere where he can compete for playing time. I would imagine Cleveland, Houston, and Detroit (assuming only one of them will get Peterson) could be reasonable landing spots.

What he said.
It depends on how demanding Henry wants to be about his new contract. With an $8mil roster bonus due this spring, he's got quite a bit of leverage on the Titans, and there will be several teams looking for a feature runner this offseason.

I'm not sure I completely agree with this. If Henry stands to lose the bonus if he is released then the Titans really only need to pay him at whatever level another team might be willing to pay him. I also don't think there are a lot of teams that will be looking for a new starting RB and will fork over big $$$ for Henry. The two sides will most likely work out a new deal.

That doesnt really make sense. The Titans will be able to keep him and negotiate with him until March. both sides know that bonus will not be paid, putting the onus on the Titans to get the deal done before other bidders enter the equation when Henry is released.Once out on the market, the Titans might A) have the chance to or b) want to match the offers Henry will recieve on the open market.

As for the teams who need a feature runner:

NYJ

CLE

BAL

HOU

PHI(unlikely)

NYG

DET

GB(potentially if Ahman is not retained)

There will be plenty of money out there for a guy with Henry's track record and success this year.

I don't think anyone knows if Jacobs & Morency are feature runners. Neither have had to carry the load, though both have shown skills with limited time.
