just wondering at 34 (35 on 12-7-1973) how much longer can TO keep up this tread of a TOP 5 WR in the NFL???

He does work as hard as anyone, and isn't completely reliant on his speed (which seems to be the 1st thing to go w/ age). He could last as long as Jerry, but I'm not that optimistic.

Here's the deal--as soon as he has another serious injury he is done. That could happen in preseason this year or might not happen for two or three years. If you own him in dynasty though the time to deal him is probably now, while you can still get something for him.

Owens does seem to get injured more than Rice ever did. Older players can age overnight so it is hard to tell.

He seems to be one of those guys that it is better to ride it out and enjoy the high points as they come. Not many folks are offering for him that I hear. This year could be a repeat of Harrison's 07 or a repeat of TO's 07? No way of knowing, but I will definitely hold until a reasonable offer is made.

I've actively and voraciously shopped TO in my league the last two offseasons and haven't been able to get so much as a future second rounder for him. Each year I breathed a sigh of relief. I don't know when the wheels will fall off but I'm now content to have him on my team til they do. Especially since our league plays all the way through the SB and Dallas has deep postseason talent right now.

If I had to purely guess, I'd say '08 is his swan song.

He's in a good situation in Dallas and gets lots of looks from Romo. I say 2 more years of top 5 stats before he starts to fade, an injury could crop up at any time, but that can be said universally.

I think 2 years is probably about right. He is in a good situation with a fairly prolific offense. I see no reason to downgrade him solely based on his age.

Too busy and lazy to look it up. Can someone put up a list of how many years WRs have been in the top 5? Whats the record? Would be nice to know the historical trend and the list of current players so that we know what the upper limit is and can trade them before its too late. For example, if most WRs that have been in the top 5 have been there 7 times in their career (not necessarily in a row) and Moss already has been top five 6 times, odds are its better to move him now rather than to hold on to him.

it all depends on what you can get for him. It may make much more sense to hold him until he's done.

TO is a physical oddity. yes, he's gotten some injuries, but he comes back within 2 or 3 games.

He has 3 years of being a top-5 receiver. He's too much of a red zone threat not to keep him around, and if anyone watched him last season, it's pretty obvious he hasn't lost a step.

Dallas is a passing offense, they have enough alternate threats (MBIII/replacement and Witten) to keep tons of pressure off TO.

TO will have another 85/1200/12+ season in 08, as well as 09 and probably '10

I'd say 2 years is a safe bet, barring injury.

Possibly 3.

Jason Garrett has made him the focal point of that offense, which is what Parcells should have done. Bill's ego got in the way.

I think T.O. wasn't crying so much about the loss to the Giants as he was about the fact that he sees his chances of going back to another SB as fleeting...he's not getting any younger, and his body is starting to wear down. He is remarkably resilient, he quickly bounces back from injuries..he works harder than anyone in the business..I have him in a keeper league, and I'm looking to trade him now, while he still has some value. I don't want another Marvin Harrison on my hands ( looking at Marvin's 2007 season which could be the end of his career)

After this yr is pushing it..

look at it this way... if you drafted or traded for him after his Eagle days; you more than likely made out.

Flawed poll; no option for "zero". I think there is less than a 50% chance that Owens finishes in the top 5 ever again.
