Terrence McGee cut? Not yet. (1 Viewer)

(FFChamps) Terrence McGee has been cut by Buffalo, according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. Analysis: This cut comes as a surprise and McGee should not go long without finding work with another club in need of cornerback help. He was named an All-Pro in 2004 and 2005.
Which Buf CB benefits?

Wow. I assume this means that Drayton Florence will start and Aaron Williams will play in the nickel packages. McGee has been starting every preseason game from what I can recall so this is a pretty big surprise.

his knee must be FUBAR or they would have tried dealing him, if he was the least bit healthy someone would have bit(patriots prolly would've sent the team jet)

is this even confirmed? I can't find mention of it anywhere. Odd for a Bay area reporter to get this scoop.

looking like this might be a bogus report.

ByTimGraham Tim GrahamWas able to text while video chatting with Jerry Sullivan ... Two sources tell me the Bills have not cut Terrence McGee, contrary to rumor.
MarkLud12 Mark LudwiczakRumors of McGee being released are not true, source says. Will keep an eye on it to see if anything changes. #Bills

guess it's not a huge surprise if it happens, even though he's good enough to start on this team. he's making $3 million and they appear to be cutting costs. bring on Andrew Luck.

Well, so much for "he's going to be cut tomorrow."

At this point, I can't imagine the Bills cutting McGee, even if they add some guys via waiver. McGee has been a good player for then and a good teammate. Cutting him this late would be a serious screwjob and would blowup the lockerroom even more than the Evans trade.

Time for whoever initiated the report to scratch off those "two independent sources" from his list of people to trust.
